Joseph Gordon-Levitt is Adorable in ’90s Pop-Tart Commercial

9 September 2016 12:27 PM, PDT | | See recent Backstage news »

Next Friday, Sept. 16, marks the release of Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s latest film performance, “Snowden.” But before Gordon-Levitt took on such a weighty character, he starred in a 1991 Pop-Tart commercial as a responsible son who won’t let his dad leave for work before having the most important meal of the day. Watch: Bryan Cranston in an ’80s Soap Commercial “Hold on, Mr. Rushing-Out-the-Door,” he says, “You haven’t had your breakfast yet!” The 30-second spot shows how charming Gordon-Levitt was from the beginning of his career. He would go on to receive two Golden Globe nominations, leading roles in films such as “50/50” and “(500) Days of Summer,” and his own production company, Hitrecord. The Pop-Tart commercial seemed to mark a great year for the budding actor, who also landed his first recurring television role on “Dark Shadows.”  Witness the natural talent that got Gordon-Levitt where he is today below!   Want to »

Don't Breathe Beats Suicide Squad at the Box Office with $26M

28 August 2016 11:53 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Going into the weekend, the Fede Alvarez directed thriller Don't Breathe was getting great word of mouth. And horror fans certainly stood up and took notice. The new movie earned an estimated $26.1 million during its box office debut, pushing this late August frame to a combined $100 million. The top 12 over-performed, with this three day stretch up a full 43.5% over the same time last year.

Mechanic: Resurrection, a sequel to Jason Statham's 2011 remake, also had a solid opening for Lionsgate, while the limited release Southside With You, which tracks Michelle and Barack Obama's first date, did quite well. The critical favorite Hell or High Water performed better than expected in its expanded rollout, while Bad Moms continues to rack up big bucks for an R-Rated comedy. It has almost topped $100 million at the domestic box office.

Don't Breathe was the top winner, though, and it far exceeded expectations. The »

Banshee Season 4 Episode 2 Review – ‘The Burden of Beauty’

Kris Wall reviews the second episode of Banshee season 4…

Full Spoilers for The Burden of Beauty ahead…

If there’s one thing that Banshee has become exceptionally good at, it’s defying viewer expectations. Just when you think you have this show figured out, it suddenly (and often violently) pulls the rug out from under you as it streaks off in a completely different, but no less thrilling, direction entirely. Banshee does not play by your rules, Banshee doesn’t really care for your rules either.

The Burden of Beauty opened on another flashback as Rebecca staggered into hospital, beaten and bloody before collapsing to the floor. Definitely a startling sight to grip attention right from the off, and something that has eased my concerns about the two year time jump that I had in last weeks episode, as it’s now clear the writers are going to be filling »

Batman v Superman: Their greatest hits in one epic supercut

18 March 2016 7:50 AM, PDT | Cineplex | See recent Cineplex news »

Next Friday, Batman and Superman are showing down in an epic battle.

Before we place our bets on either Bruce Wayne or Clark Kent, now would be a good time to take a look back at the history these characters have made for themselves on screen. Both heroes have been portrayed by various actors in numerous films, from Christopher Reeve as Superman in Richard Donner's films, to Christian Bale as Batman in Christopher Nolan's take on the Caped Crusader.

Let's go down memory lane and look back at some of Batman and Superman's greatest moments on screen before we see them fight it out in Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Watch the supercut below and check out Batman v Superman in theatres on March 25th! »
