Great Berlin Movie
10 September 2011 | by See all my reviews

Very fresh unique movie captures amazingly well the atmosphere of Berlin in 2000.

It's tragic and humorous at once. The story centers around a couple around young women and men and follows their different experiences and thereby creates a very entertaining and touching kaleidoscope of one night in Berlin. Luise is working during the day at a butchers shop to make her living and is taking photographs during the night in order to fulfil her dream and to break into photography. She fancies the DJ's companion who seemed to reciprocate this. However during the night we get to discover another unexpected side of him. Meanwhile the DJ tries to survive the night.

The characters represent very authentic Berliners, specifically the performances of Milton Welsh who was hilarious and very layered.
