Storyline

About a half dozen slacker dudes dwell at their jobs at Los Enchiladas, the local Mexican sit-down joint. The 2 folks in "management" are both into their own authority and fill their days creating wild & stupid rules for the working folk. By mid-film, however, the manager has fled the cops after beating the crap out of a competing restaurant's dancing gyro... and the "Chef" has jumped ship to join a beatnik poet's groups which specializes in exotic menu-writing. This leaves the minimum-wage crowd to run the place as they see fit.... and they see a lot of debauchery, booze, and free steak in their future. Written by Mike H <mike@ufilm.org>

The best movie you never saw.
7 July 2015 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Now this is a gem.Los Enchiladas! not only starred Mitch Hedberg but he also wrote and directed it. Who is Mitch Hedberg you ask?Only one of the funniest men to ever walk the earth. It's surprising he did a movie since one of his most famous bits is about comedians becoming writers and actors. "You are a good chef, now let's see you farm". His drug fogged reality made for a hit or miss one liner style and he almost never looked at the audience. As sad as it was to see him die,I can't say I was surprised. Anyway, this movie is exactly what you would think a movie written by Mitch would be,FUNNY. If your idea of funny is Friends or Everybody Loves Raymond, you probably won't like it. If you like Cheech & Chong or Tim & Eric or Mr. Show, you will love this. The story is loosely based on his real life and is just about him traveling the country working in restaurants. Dave Attell and Todd Barry are also in this but the funniest person in the movie is Jim Jorgensen, who plays the wacky chef. Most importantly, this movie was never released. All that exists is one not so good VHS copy. Mitch's widow is supposed to be trying to release it but she said that years ago. If you like to laugh,SEE THIS.
