Michael Kennedy's Jim and Muggins Tour Toronto is the epitome of preciousness. The film follows Kennedy's roommate Jim and his adorable canine companion Muggins as they visit various landmarks in Toronto, including the CN Tower, and the "new" (as it was in 1979) City Hall. It plays out sort of how one might think it would based on the title, but it's so much more than a guy and his dog touring the city. Jim and Muggins Tour Toronto is a heartbreaking look into how deeply the people who come in and out of our lives can impact us. It reflects how everyone has their own unique story, in this case we learn that of Jim and briefly, Muggins. The end of the film is my absolute favorite part, because Kennedy speaks a line of dialogue that I'll never forget for the rest of my life--I won't say what it is, but let me tell you, you'll be fighting back tears once you hear it. Overall, great film with a ton of heart.
