The model, 25, managed to fit in a “leg day” workout while still being a supportive wife-to-be to her fiancé, Houston Astros pitcher Justin Verlander, as he played the Texas Rangers on Wednesday. Upton shared a video of her workout — in a living room — as Verlander pitched to a 12-2 win.

“When you and @kateupton wanna watch @justinverlander pitch but it’s leg day,” Upton’s trainer, Ben Bruno, posted on Instagram, which she regrammed.

Taylor Sheridan: 'The big joke on reservations is the white guy that shows up and says: "My grandma is Cherokee"'

8 September 2017 7:45 AM, PDT | The Guardian - Film News | See recent The Guardian - Film News news »

The Sicario and Hell or High Water writer has turned director with Wind River, an acclaimed crime thriller set on a Native American reservation. He discusses the Great Spirit, police shootouts, and Nick Cave’s giant cat

The films of actor-turned-writer-turned-director Taylor Sheridan resemble their central characters: stern, taciturn, unwilling to give anything away unless absolutely necessary. These are tales of law enforcers and their quarry, bonded by a desire to simply keep going. We’ve seen them in Sicario, the Denis Villeneuve-directed account of the drugs war on the Mexico/Us border, and the Oscar-nominated Hell or High Water, about two Texas rangers’ attempts to hunt down a pair of down-on-their-luck bank robbers. Sheridan’s screenplays for both were thoughtful, funny and frequently terrifying, but above all succinct. After all, when you’re in a shootout with cartel members or desperate felons, there’s little time to shoot the breeze. »

Frightfest 2017: ‘Leatherface’ Review: Dirs. Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo

Leatherface Review: The Texas chainsaw wielding monster Leatherface gets an origin story in the latest franchise instalment. Leatherface Review

Leatherface, like his iconic horror counterpart’s Freddy Krueger and Hannibal Lecter, has been featured in a huge number of sequels over the years. The original 1974 masterpiece shocked the world, and went down as one of the most terrifying slasher movies of all time. Unfortunately for the Sawyer family, the deranged cannibals have never managed to reach the same heights. Now, it’s time for the inevitable origin story for Jed Sawyer and his chainsaw wielding alter ego. How does the film hold up against the original? And, more importantly, is it an improvement on the plethora of sequels, reboots, and prequels we’ve already been subjected to?

Few fans were holding out hope for the newest entry in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise. Each new instalment appears to share more »

Woody Harrelson and Kevin Costner to hunt Bonnie & Clyde in Netflix’s Highwayman

25 June 2017 9:10 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Deadline is reporting that Woody Harrelson and Kevin Costner are in talks to play legendary lawmen Frank Hamer and Manny Gault, the two former Texas Rangers tasked with hunting down notorious outlaws Bonnie & Clyde, in the drama Highwayman.

The site reports that Netflix is currently in talks to acquire the project from Universal Pictures, where it was set up four years ago. John Lee Hancock (Saving Mr. Banks, The Founder) will direct, and has rewritten an earlier script from John Fusco (Young Guns, Hidalgo).

Rather than focussing on the two outlaw lovers, famously portrayed by Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway in 1967’s Bonnie & Clyde, Highwayman will explore the story from the point of view of the posse assembled by Hamer to bring their violent crime spree to and end. »

It’s a project that’s been around a long time this one, at one stage a possible vehicle for Robert Redford and Paul Newman. The current guise of the film will be directed by John Lee Hancock, who previously wrote the Kevin Costner-headlined A Perfect World, and directed The Founder and Saving Mr Banks.

Hancock has re-written the script too, from an earlier draft by John Dusco.

Newswire: Woody Harrelson and Kevin Costner might hunt Bonnie and Clyde for Netflix

21 June 2017 4:56 PM, PDT | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

According to Deadline, a long-in-production movie about the Texas Rangers tasked with hunting down legendary outlaws Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow might finally get made, at least if Netflix can get the rights from Universal. The project is called Highwaymen, and it was originally set to star Paul Newman and Robert Redford, but due to the endless passage of time, Netflix wants to replace them with Woody Harrelson and Kevin Costner.

Assuming this all works out, Costner will play lawman Frank Hamer—who Deadline says “survived 100 gunfights and killed 53 people”—with Harrelson playing Manny Gault. Together, those two men led a posse tasked with ending Bonnie and Clyde’s crime spree, which naturally gives Highwaymen a different spin than what you usually see in Hollywood’s many Bonnie and Clyde stories. Again, this is all fairly early and dependent on a few good things happening for Netflix, but »

O’Shea Jackson Jr. to play baseball star Dock Ellis

14 June 2017 7:00 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Straight Outta Compton star O’Shea Jackson Jr. is set to portray baseball pitcher Dock Ellis in a biopic entitled Dock, which has been scripted by Joey Poach (In Color) and is being produced by Ice Cube, David Permut and Jeff Kwatinetz.

Ellis enjoyed a decade-long career in Major League Baseball, where he played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Yankees, Oakland Athletics, Texas Rangers and New York Mets. Throughout his career, he battled drug and alcohol addiction, and is best known for pitching a no-hitter against the San Diego Padres in 1970, claiming to have done so while high on LSD.

Joey Poach’s script is one of the most heartfelt, honest and emotional pieces of material I’ve read in years, and I think the complexities of the character are a perfect fit for O’Shea,” said Permut, with Kwatinetz adding: “Part of Cube Vision’s mission is to bring compelling, »

Newswire: O’Shea Jackson Jr. to re-create Dock Ellis’ LSD-fueled no-hitter in new biopic

One of the greatest sports anecdotes of all time is now being made into a feature film, as Deadline reports that O’Shea Jackson, Jr., who played his famous father Ice Cube in Straight Outta Compton, has been tapped for the starring role in Dock, a movie about former Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher and all-around fascinating dude Dock Ellis. Ellis—who played for the New York Yankees, Oakland Athletics, Texas Rangers, and New York Mets as well as the Pirates in his decade-long Mlb career—admitted after his retirement that he had never pitched a game sober, an impressive feat considering that he had helped lead both the Pirates and the Yankees to World Series wins.

Ellis’ most infamous exploit, though, is without a doubt the no-hitter game he pitched on June 12, 1970—exactly 47 years ago today—while high on LSD. Ellis had apparently forgotten he had to pitch ...

The Son Season 1 Episode 4 Review: Death Song

Death is all around.

On The Son Season 1 Episode 4 Pete loses another part of himself when he and Eli put together a posse to ambush a group of seditionists.

You have to wonder how Pete really feels about being a McCullough. He seems more burdened by the fact of his heritage than anything else.

Even if it's unasked, he does what he thinks his father wants him to do. He's a broken spirit.

When Sally asked him not to go with the posse, he told her he had no choice. He's "his son" and he has to do things whether he likes them or not.

But is that really true?

As we found out later, Eli wanted Pete to marry Sally even though he was involved with Maria Garcia at the time. Pete did what his father asked without question. But, Eli told him he could have said no.

Eli probably wouldn't have been happy, »

‘La La Land’ Will Win Best Editing Oscar — Here’s Why

You’d think that the Oscar race for Best Editing would be very much in play. After all, “Arrival” and “La La Land” took the Ace Awards for drama and comedy, respectively, while “Hacksaw Ridge” won the BAFTA.

But given the audacity of Best Picture frontrunner “La La Land” and the fact that editor Tom Cross previously won the Oscar for Damien Chazelle’s “Whiplash,” the odds are with him again.

Still, with such a strong group of nominees, the craft awards could break unexpectedly. Each editor explores existential crises in different ways and creatively plays with time and space.

Here’s how the race is shaking out.
