Lars Ulrich of Metallica Reveals James Hetfield Was ‘Livid’ After Technical Problems Plagued Grammys Performance

15 February 2017 7:58 AM, PST | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

Although technical issues marred Lady Gaga’s duet with Metallica at Sunday’s Grammy Awards, the musicians soldiered on through their rendition of “Moth into Flame.” However, lead singer James Hetfeld was not happy about his microphone malfunctioning.

Drummer Lars Ulrich appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden to discuss what he previously called a “clusterf—” performance.

Hetfeld showed his frustration by knocking down the non-working mic in the middle of the song and throwing his guitar offstage at the end, but things got even more heated backstage.

“I haven’t seen him like that in 20 years,” Ulrich said of Hetfield. »

Katherine Heigl Pretended to Date John Mayer So That Her Husband Would Commit

15 February 2017 7:24 AM, PST | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

Katherine Heigl is one sneaky devil. During an appearance on The Late Late Show on Tuesday, the Doubt actress told host James Corden the hilarious way she got her now-husband Josh Kelley to take things to the next level. "Josh and I were probably dating about a month, and it was unclear where the relationship was going," she said. So to test out the waters and see whether or not Josh wanted to be exclusive, she pretended that she was dating John Mayer on the side, even though they were totally "just friends." While it obviously worked out in the end - the two have been married nearly 10 years and have three beautiful children - she admitted that to this day, Josh still thinks she had a thing for John. 15 February 2017 3:09 AM, PST | Entertainment Tonight | See recent Entertainment Tonight news »

Though Lady Gaga and Metallica brought the house down at the GRAMMYs on Sunday, the performance wasn’t without its flaws.

Lead singer James Hetfield’s mic wasn’t working and he had to share with the “Applause” singer. While the group powered through the performance like professionals, drummer Lars Ulrich revealed on The Late Late Show on Tuesday night that the reaction backstage was very different.

“Well, in the heat of the battle you’re out there you’re playing when it’s a technical issue you don’t really know is it going to the house, is his vocals going to the truck?” Ulrich explained. “Maybe it’s the monitors, so you just gotta keep playing.”

But once they got off the stage, things got heated.

“I haven’t seen him like that in 20 years,” Ulrich said to »

“I think once you have two, it doesn’t matter anymore!” laughed the Doubt star, while pondering whether three kids are exponentially harder to handle than two. “You've already got two...right?”

Asked if she was hinting that she wants to further expand her brood, Heigl admitted that she’s already raised the subject with her musician husband, Josh Kelley.

“I’ve already tried to have this conversation, but it’s so funny -- at eight weeks, he's like, 'I'm not talking about this right now!’” she said.

Grammy Award Producers: No ‘Carpool Karaoke’ But More Comedy as James Corden Takes Over as Host

10 February 2017 10:31 AM, PST | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Expect a slightly different kind of Grammy telecast this year, as James Corden takes over as host after five years of LL Cool J.

“There will be more comedy,” said executive producer Ken Ehrlich, who has worked on the show for nearly 40 years. “We’ve carved out some blocks for him.”

Don’t expect to see Corden re-create some of his signature “The Late Late Show” musical bits like “Carpool Karaoke” or “Drop the Mic,” however.

“Hosts have learned in the past, to try and implement their own show on to bigger award shows is a mistake,” said “Late Late Show” executive producer Ben Winston, who’s also working on the Grammys. “Therefore it won’t be that.”

But Ehrlich said Corden and Winston are planning a twist on the “Carpool” idea that will fit the Grammy Awards and satisfy fans.
