Episodes from the 1999 Sylvester night in Berlin, accompanied by the blind radio-DJ Zippo: one of the listeners is ex-inmate Toto, who starts his job as a bus driver on this day. In the bus is a corpse with a suitcase full of coke, which belongs to Totos' prison-pal Frank. Then there is the desperate woman who is pregnant and above their heads is ex pilot Rory, who has a devious plan to kill his unfaithful wife... Moreover, a bear ran away from the zoo! Written by
It's not a good "german" movie, it's a good movie in general
There are two things which are always killing a german movie: The dialogues or the storyline. This movie makes an exeption because it masters both. The story combines lovestory, thriller, comedy & drama perfectly and gives you a real impression, how the millennium night would be like in the streets of Berlin from the viewpoint of several characters, including a bear which escaped from the zoo!! In my point of view a must see like "Bang Boom Bang" or the more popular "Lola rennt (runs)". Even if you only get the chance to see it in 2000 it will still carry the magic of this certain night.
