This show is not about a suburb Family. In fact, they live, and the all show is about it, in a very typical quarter in the center of Lisbon. (Sapadores). It was, and in my opinion is, until now, the best Portuguese cast and script (even if it's adapted. I live very near the quarter this show was filmed, and it really shows, with some exaggerations, how people in here live. The older brother is always looking for a way of easy money, in the limits of legal situations, but usually ends up ruined. The younger brother is a lot like a consicence adviser, but ends up getting involved in every scam of his brother. It's a must see!

Great Show

I'm from Portugal, but I mostly hate Portuguese shows. They are old-fashioned and often copies of each other.

But this show is different. It's the only Portuguese show so far that I watched and actually enjoyed watching. The cast was superbly chosen, the actors seemed to have been born to play their respective roles.

Every single episode had at least one part that made me laugh (which is amazing even comparing to American or British shows). A "normal" Portuguese suburban family that get's into hilarious situations. They not once used cliché jokes or moments and that is also very rare.

A show that I recommended to lots of friends and family members and one I am sorry has stopped being broadcast in Portugal. Hope to catch some re-runs, because it's definitely worth it.

A funny Tv comedy about "a family" from Lisbon suburbs
filme2426 September 2002
Two brothers, one older than the other, and their grandfather which live in the suburbs of Lisbon,Portugal , so a typical family(if you can call it that) from the surroundings of Lisbon in each episode have different events that make us laugh, through simple and yet ethically correct(without cliches or sex mentions) jokes.

The actors are natural on their roles, so you can really think that's a typical suburbia family live you're watching, with their also typical way of life, way of dressing, way of talking and way of inter-acting with other people.

Amazingly simple and discrete and yet so funny.
