tomb raider 2 is the best of the series.
14 July 2002 | by (Scotland) – See all my reviews

although i like all the raider games a lot there is not a bad one out of the five of them.

i still think that 2 is the best it is pure class. maybe what draws me to it is the atmosphere in some levels if not all the levels not just the atmosphere but the level design which is really good compared to some of the poor designs we have got in some games today.

first time i completed it it took me 15hours 32mins. the time i got second time round was about half of that. my fastest time collecting all the secrets was 4hours 53mins without the infinite ammo option.

the levels like tibetian foothills and the catacombs and the barkang monistry and the sunkin ship levels have some really good atmosphere there is also a lot more action in raider 2 than there is in the original one. what the first one lost in action it made up for it with atmosphere cos in the first one you had a MASSIVE sense of isolation you felt that you were miles and miles away from the nearest civilisation.

there was a few more moves added to the controls like for instance you could do a kind of flip turn while in the water so as you could change directions quickly. also there was a turn while in mid air move which was quite handy in some levels with a lot of combat. Lara also had a few extra guns in her posession. like the M16 and a grenade launcher and a pair of automatic handguns and a harpoon which was sh*t i neer use it EVER.

yes sir tomb raider 2 was and is still a sequel more than capable of kicking the arse of the original. dont get me wrong i like all the raiders but 2 if the most appealing to me.

so if you like any of the rest of the series then you have to like this one cos it rules !!!!.

rating for the game 12/10. the best adventure series EVER.
