I had heard a great deal about this movie, and was eagerly anticipating it. I was not disappointed.
The movie was a very clever update of the Cyrano de Bergerac story, with the roles reversed; Camryn Manheim plays "Cyrano" (Samantha Berger) and Scott Cohen plays "Roxanne" (Michael True).
I very much enjoyed Ms. Manheim's performance in this movie. She really brought to life those feelings many single women have while sitting alone at home on a Saturday night. I enjoyed her comedic delivery as well -- it was right on the mark. As for Scott Cohen -- he was perfect as Michael. From his first entrance into the comedy club till the final scene, he exuded charm and grace and was every inch a romantic leading man. His is a very expressive face, and there were moments in this movie where the intensity and caring expressions he showed caused my overly-romantic heart to beat a little faster. This man is truly gifted. The chemistry between these two actors was sizzling... it practically jumped off the tv screen!
For those who enjoy a good romance, I highly recommend this movie. As has been mentioned in another review, I hope ABC will release it on video or DVD so those who missed it will get a chance to see it.
