brace're going to get LICKED!
21 September 2014 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Sixteen Tongues is a very unique, dark, and daring film. This is one of those movies that was a little ahead of its time, since it was released in 1999. I licked it, I mean, I LIKED IT, but it's for sure not a movie for everyone. The movie successfully trades in plot for character depth, so if your expecting a real gory, action thriller, you can pass this treat up and save yourself the time. The focus on Sixteen Tongues isn't even really on violence, although it does have its moments. In fact, the first five minutes proves that true. If your homophobic, by all means, pass this up, your odds of liking this isn't all too great. What our director Scooter has brought to the table, is a small tale about a cop cooped up in a motel with a lesbian couple. Is that it? Pretty much. The cop, Adrian Torque, is no ordinary cop...he's composed of sixteens tongues grafted to his skin after a bad accident that took out almost the entire police squad during a brutal scene. That was all off screen, we don't see the accident, but we are filled in with all the information needed with the narration, mostly done by Adrian himself. Most of the movie takes place in the room itself, so you get the feel of entrapment. The living conditions of the motel are horrible, since it takes place in the near have to pay for the water, so use your showers sparingly. Oh, and if you want to turn off the annoying porn running nonstop on TV, you have to pay to shut it off. What a great future we can look forward to, eh? So, in a nutshell, you just watch. You listen. You learn the characters, characters so unique, that you will probably never see them in another movie again. A woman, for example, has an orgasm every time she blinks. ( If it wasn't for sleep, she would have the perfect life!) Very little plot progression, however, what does happen should keep its target audience entertained. Parents should be warned that, although this is an unrated movie, it's no doubt NC-17. Every part of the body can be seen, male and female...even experimented with, that's all I can say. Brace yourself, and get ready to be licked, because I guarantee there won't be another film like it!
