Trivia

According to Tim Schafer, Full Throttle originally would have featured a sequence where Ben undergoes a peyote-induced hallucinogenic trip. This was eventually ejected from the game, because the developers couldn't get it to "work out" with the publishing. The concept eventually became the basis of "Psychonauts". See more »

Goofs

Ben receives numerous facial and body wounds and clothing tears from his bike accident, yet they all disappear within a short amount of time when he recovers at Mo's shack. See more »

Quotes

[first lines]
Ben: [narrating] Whenever I smell asphalt, I think of Maureen. That's the last sensation I had, before I blacked out: the thick smell of asphalt. And the first thing I saw when I woke up was her face. She said she'd fix my bike. Free. No strings attached. I should have known then that things are never that simple. Yeah, when I think of Maureen I think of two things: asphalt... and trouble.

One of Lucas Arts' funniest efforts
8 March 2006 | by (London, UK) – See all my reviews

Despite being a fairly unchallenging point-and-click adventure Full Throttle still remains one of Lucas Arts' most inspired games of the last ten years. Easily one of the funniest games they've ever produced, the story is set in a not-to-distant future, one where wheels are in danger of being obsolete. One such company, Corley Motors, specialise in only making wheeled vehicles, specifically motorbikes. But their over-zealous vice-president wants to change all that by hatching a plan to kill it's owner. You play Ben, the leader of The Polecats, a motorcycle gang, caught in the middle of this murder story. You must find out what dastardly plan Adrian Ripburger (The VP voiced by Mark Hamill) has hatched for Corley Motors.

There are some wonderful set-pieces, the best one involving a platoon of motorised bunnies hopping off into a minefield. If you have an adaptable computer it's still largely worth a play. It has a great soundtrack and an involving storyline.
