Storyline

This animated series is actually about three different cartoon scenarios. The first, "Schnookums and Meat!" involves a dumb pair of animals, Schnookums the cat and Meat the dog. The next, "Pith Possum: Super Dynamic Possum of Tomorrow" is a spoof of the 1966 Batman TV series, with Pith Possum and Obediah fighting crime in Possum City. Finally, "Tex Tinstar: The Best in the West" is a parody of Western serials, involving the title character, a cowboy, and his team. The end of each episode ends in a cliffhanger for next week, not unlike the serials or "Rocky and Bullwinkle". Written by Bluefire_72

Trivia

A canned pasta meal featuring pasta modeled after the characters Shnookums and Meat was produced as a tie-in product. In a surreal note, the label had a disclaimer stating that the product itself contained no meat, but the "meat" referred to on the label was the character "Meat" (although it was also available with meatballs, which did, obviously, contain meat). Why I think Schnookums and Meat was the GREATEST cartoon EVER
3 September 2005 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

i don't know why you people are ragging on this great cartoon, after a week of school this show was PERFECT. School is stressful and these guys knew just how to take the trauma away. I would actually KILL to see it back on the air because I grew up with this cartoon, even though it only had 13 episodes unfortunately. It's too bad people who are too "formal" had to take it off the air because they thought it was "pointless". You know what I think? I think GARFIELD is pointless, the comic strip isn't even funny anymore. This show didn't warp anyone, so what was wrong with it? Somebody needs to contact someone and persuade them to put it back on TV so that the majority of us can have our Saturday Morning Nirvana back. On my scale of 1 - 10 i'd give this cartoon a 20.5, yes, the greatness is OFF the scales, but a cartoon this great deserves it, doesn't it?
