Pretty dull Jungle exploitation flick, 20 October 2007
Author: TheMarquisDeSuave from Worcester, MA

I got this as part of the Something Weird Video "Primitive Triple Feature" disc, which also contained "Bowanga Bowanga" and "The Wild Women of Wongo". Both of those were extremely entertaining bits of camp madness. The third film on the bill however, "Virgin Sacrifice", is rather tedious and a major letdown when compared to those two other fun flicks. Its about a white Safari explorer traveling the African jungle (which looks oddly like Southern California) and taking it upon himself to free a virgin from a native sacrifice, hence the title. Thats about it for plot.

What the viewer gets is a whole lot of nothing. The film seems to be made with the enthusiasm of vintage educational film-making. Despite one cool tiger attack and some attractive females, there's really nothing at all to recommend about this one. As an adventure film its positively unexciting, as an exploitation film there's far too much (post-dubbed) talk and not enough tacky and cheap thrills, and as a camp film its far too dull. You may as well watch it if you get the DVD. While its not exactly a painfully bad experience, its rather pointless. (2/10)
