Average and forgetable drama with martial arts
ckormos129 October 2019
It starts with girls dancing on stage. Gangsters enter looking for a guy and he runs. They are collecting a debt and it goes to a dice game. Our hero, Raymond Lui Shing-Gung, enters to roll the dice with a result that defies physics. He collects his percentage and fights his way out. The first fight sequence is above average both technically and creatively so we are off to a good start.

He soon swears to his girl he won't gamble or fight anymore and that seems to be the plot - the hero who will not fight. It is my least favorite plot as I have detailed in other reviews. They get married and the jealous ex-girlfriend sends gangsters after him. How romantic!

The drama, as usual, drags down the action instead of improving it. Though the movie started strong it never improved beyond that. The fights continued to be hand to hand brawls. No weapons or improvised props were used until a knife at the end. I rate this as average and forgettable and do not recommend for fans of the genre for those reasons.

My copy is a digital file that's plays on a HDTV at 4:3 resolution similar to the old VHS format and English dubbed. We all know these copies can be so poor as to be painful to watch but this one is as good as it gets. I don't recognize the voice over actors but they do a good job as in not distracting or annoying, just ordinary voices.
