Fiona McLaren: You're getting married?
Tommy Albright: Yes. Yes, to a soap heiress.
Fiona McLaren: Well, I think it's very important for a wife to be able to make good soap.
Fiona McLaren: I'm sure you'll be very happy.
Tommy Albright: Well, I'm not.
Fiona McLaren: Then why de ye ask her to marry ye?
Tommy Albright: I don't know; I think there was a lull in the conversation and I didn't know what else to say.
Andrew McLaren: Now, lad, always remember - a woman is like a bagpipe. "Why?", you ask?
Charlie Dalrymple: [suddenly realizing he has to answer] Oh! Why, why?
Andrew McLaren: Because, if you tuck her under your arm and you squeeze 'er, och! She'll play a merry tune that you'll long remember.
