An undercover police officer MUST think ahead and fast to survive.
Christian Box may be an over stressed police officer but even with that foundation he would not take the actions the writer gives and live.
This reminds me of a slasher drive-in movie with inexperienced kids walking blindly into each new situation without thinking ahead.
The writer is trying to have the viewer believe stupidity is a character flaw when it is just stupidity.
