Storyline

A rare atmospheric phenomenon allows a New York City firefighter to communicate with his son 30 years in the future via HAM radio. The son uses this opportunity to warn the father of his impending death in a warehouse fire, and manages to save his life. However, what he does not realize is that changing history has triggered a new set of tragic events, including the murder of his mother. The two men must now work together, 30 years apart, to find the murderer before he strikes so that they can change history--again. Written by <jgp3553@excite.com>

Trivia

The "time travel" mechanism of the film, by which only messages can be sent through time, is similar to the method used in an award winning novel, "Timescape" from 1980, written by Gregory Benford and Hilary Benford. See more »

Quotes

John Sullivan: Do exactly what I say ok?
Gordo Hersch: Bull hicky. You can't tell me what to do.
John Sullivan: Don't screw with me you little pisher, I know everything about you. I have complete knowledge of the universe.
Gordo Hersch: That's not true, only God knows...
John Sullivan: Oh, yeah well who put rubber cement in the coach's jockstrap, or who put the frog in Melissa Gluckman's locker and lets not forget about grandpa's laxative in the sweet potatoes last Thanksgiving. You did all that.
Gordo Hersch: What do you want Mister?
John Sullivan: Ok...

Stand up and Cheer!!!
18 April 2000 | by (usa) – See all my reviews

You can't help it!! You have to cheer and applaud this movie. I can't remember the last time the whole audience clapped at the end of a movie. It has been such a long time since a movie was made that warmed your heart, while keeping you at the edge of your seat. This movie will make you laugh, get a little misty in the eyes, and you won't even notice the time. You're almost sad to see it end. Dennis Quaid is excellent, this is his best movie in years. This movie also has some new faces you won't soon forget. Don't take my word on this, see it your self. You will be thinking about this movie for weeks.
