WWE Legend Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan Passes Away at 73

  • MovieWeb
The pro wrestling world is in mourning today after the loss of one of sports entertainment's most colorful and iconic managers and entertainers. Bobby Heenan, a.k.a. "The Brain," passed away at age 73. While no cause of death was announced, the famous loudmouth manager had been in poor health for years, after he was diagnosed with throat cancer back in 2002. He died at his home in Largo, Florida. Here's part of the WWE's statement on Bobby "The Brain" Heenan.

"WWE is saddened to learn that WWE Hall of Famer Bobby Heenan, regarded by many as the greatest manager in sports-entertainment history, has passed away at age 73. With a career spanning more than four decades, Heenan was the "The Brain" behind some of the most prolific Superstars in sports-entertainment history. Heenan plied his trade as their mischievous manager by running his mouth on their behalf with a sarcastic wit

Smackdown Shinsuke Nakamura title plans leaked? WWE stars returning soon – WrestleTalk News

Oli Davis rounds up the biggest professional wrestling news in his daily WrestleTalk column…

Move aside, Camp WWE. Take a break, Holy Foley. The WWE Network has a new piece of programming in development: a game show hosted by R-Truth.

PWInsider are reporting WWE have greenlit the Network’s first-ever game show after being impressed by the R-Truth-hosted pilot episode filmed back in March, with the series planned to debut in the late Summer/early Fall.

Here’s my pitch for the format – ‘What Is Up with R-Truth’. A sit down, mature team-based discussion about the world’s biggest political news, where R-Truth asks people over there what’s up, what’s up, what’s up, what’s up. And sometimes, y’all know what time is it?

I’m pretty certain that’s what the new game show is going to be, but we’ll have to wait a

  • LRM Online
This time of year the WWE makes every effort they can to step up their performance. With Wrestlemania around the corner, they want to make sure as many eyes as possible are watching the Granddaddy of Them All. It’s also a time to reflect and honor the past as this is usually the time of year they start announcing the next WWE Hall of Fame class. Thanks to Bryan Alvarez from the Wrestling Observer, we may have some clue as to who will be a part of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2017. Let’s discuss the picks now but remember, until they’re confirmed by the WWE, these choices are strictly rumor at this point.

Diamond Dallas Page

A deserving choice if there ever was one. Starting off as a manager, he worked his way up in his late 30’s to become a wrestler and eventual WCW World Champion.

Goldberg squashing Brock Lesnar was the perfect end to Survivor Series

Luke Owen defends Goldberg’s win over Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series

On Sunday night, Goldberg defeated Brock Lesnar in less than two minutes in the main event of Survivor Series. It was Lesnar’s first clean defeat since losing to Triple H at WrestleMania 29 in 2013. Since then, The Beast Incarnate has defeated the likes of John Cena, Dean Ambrose and – more impressively – The Undertaker where he ended his legendary Undefeated Streak. But it wasn’t an up and comer that could have done with the rub who stopped the unstoppable Brock Lesnar, it was the returning 49-year old Goldberg who hasn’t been in the ring in twelve long years and is only back because a video game needed promoting.

And it was the perfect outcome for the match.

To argue why Goldberg needed to squash Lesnar, you need to go back to his WCW debut in 1997. At that time,

Jeff Hardy Talks WWE Return! Raw’s Brand Split Makeover! | WrestleTalk News

The following is a guest post from WrestleTalk. Subscribe to their YouTube channel for new videos every day.

In this episode of the WrestleTalk News, Jeff Hardy talks about wanting to return to WWE, reports of him behaving strangely at a recent wrestling appearance, and all the changes made to the brand split’s first episode of Monday Night Raw.

Raw’s Brand Split Makeover!

Our top story today is Jeff Hardy’s comments about returning to WWE, but first – it’s a new era. And Raw…was Cor.

The first post-brand split episode of Monday Night Raw aired last night, and the presentation of the show has undergone a massive overhaul. We got a new opening video package, logo, theme music (which is called ‘Enemies’ by Shinedown, if you want to add that to your workout playlist) and set. The stage now has a theatre-like proscenium arch, and – in

Finn Balor Debuts! Raw Championship Title Announced! | WWE Raw 07/25/16 Review

The following is a guest post from WrestleTalk. Subscribe to their YouTube channel for new videos every day.

A new set! A new logo! A new opening video package! A new piece of entrance music! A new announcer! A new kind of in-ring interview! A New Era – for realsies. This is the 25th July edition of WWE Monday Night Raw…in about 4 minutes.

Raw Re-debuts!

Raw was really good from the opening frame. Shinedown’s Enemies is a much better theme than Tonight Is the Night, the opening video package hit the ground running – even though there was a worryingly long shot of Braun Strowman – and the new Raw graphics straddle old and new remarkably well. I don’t even mind Triple H’s secret Illuminati code.

With the announcers now by the entrance ramp, WCW Nitro style, Raw’s two authority figures opened the show…and then were never seen again.

Loads Of WWE Brand Split Announcements!

Our top story today is Vince McMahon’s backstage reaction to the Roman Reigns suspension scandal, but first – a whole bunch of brand split announcements happened on last night’s episode of Raw.

In the opening segment of the show, Shane McMahon announced Daniel Bryan as the General Manager of Smackdown – which we all kind of knew already as it was leaked by the WWE app last week – and Stephanie revealed Mick Foley as her General Manager for Raw.
