WWE going after Matt & Jeff Hardy, original Bayley title plans revealed…

24 February 2017 11:59 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

With Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe seemingly aligning with Triple H, many are speculating that we could be seeing the formation of The Authority 2.0.

If, for some bizarre reason, you want to relive The Authority’s first incarnation, you can pick up WWE’s official comic book that’s been detailing Seth Rollins siding with the McMahon-Helmsley faction. In a recent issue, Seth meets up with Triple H on The Game’s evil super-yacht base called The Sea-Rebral Assassin.

I want us all to take a moment to recognise what a solid pun that is.

We also need to recognise another achievement – Ring of Honor’s 15th anniversary.

The promotion’s first show – The Era of Honor Begins – was held on the 23rd February, 2002. The main event had Low Ki defeating Christopher Daniels and Daniel Bryan, with Eddie Guerrero, Super Crazy and Brian Kendrick also on the card.

WWE edit joke out of Raw, Vince McMahon “unhappy” with The Rock for Cm Punk call

22 February 2017 11:12 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Icymi – which is a popular Internet abbreviation for ‘In Case You Missed It’, a time-saving acronym that becomes rather pointless if you then explain what it means… – The Rock appeared at this week’s WWE Raw.

He wasn’t on the actual television broadcast. He only appeared in front of the Staples Center crowd before and after Raw to shoot scenes for his new movie Fighting With My Family, which is based on the life of WWE wrestler and two-time Wellness Policy violator Paige.

They were specifically recreating Paige’s main roster debut, where she won the Divas Title from Aj Lee. This caused the crowd to chant for Lee’s real-life husband Cm Punk. To quell the chants, Rock ‘The Dwayne’ Johnson attempted to FaceTime Punk, leaving a voicemail on his phone.

Unsurprisingly, PWInsider is reporting that “management did not appear to have been happy” when Rock did this »

WWE Monday Night Raw Reaction 2/20/2017

22 February 2017 10:55 AM, PST | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

Monday Night Raw is in the books for another week. Raw is building towards Fastlane, the last stop in the road before Wrestlemania. How did the show fare?

Roman Reigns faced off against Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson in a handicap match. You would think that the WWE Tag Team Champions would find a way to finish off Roman Reigns easily and in quick order yet they ended up winning the match by Dq after Roman took a chair from Luke Gallows and hit him with it. Why have Anderson and Gallows be your Tag Team Champions and yet go out of your way to make them look weak? I get that not everyone is going to win each and every week but you would think that during a handicap match of all things, the Tag Team Champs would find a way to easily handle one person. Having Roman Reigns »

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Returns to WWE Ring to Leave Cm Punk a Voicemail (Video)

After WWE’s “Monday Night Raw” went off the air, the crowd at the Staples Center in Los Angeles got a surprise visit from The Rock, who decided to give fans a chance to say “hi” to former wrestler, Ufc fighter Cm Punk. The man known outside the ring as Dwayne Johnson was there to film in-ring scenes for the wrestling movie “Fighting With My Family,” which tells the story of WWE wrestler Paige and how she grew up in a family of pro wrestlers. The film crew was there to film the final scene of the movie, which depicts Paige’s. »

WWE’s The New Day lobbying for The Lion King roles

21 February 2017 2:00 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

During last night’s edition of WWE Monday Night Raw, The New Day cut a promo on their way to the ring where Xavier Woods mentioned that alongside the trio hosting WrestleMania 33 and a gaming event at SXSW, they are also sharpening their voice acting skills to hopefully land roles playing the hyenas in director Jon Favreau’s live-action remake of The Lion King. Xavier also went a step further, noting that they are serious about wanting the roles.

Now, not to say that definitively it would work, but there is a strong chance it could considering that their wrestling act is built on the camaraderie and dynamic chemistry the athletes share both in the ring and on the microphone. It’s a crazy enough idea that actually might be brilliant. Their interactions together on WWE television actually capture a silliness that could easily translate to those wacky hyenas.

Five Braun Strowman Tweets I’m a Big Fan Of

Tonight on WWE Monday Night Raw, Braun Strowman gets the competition he craves in a matchup with the 7-foot Big Show in Los Angeles.  In honor of this match up I decided to take a bit of a further look at Braun Strowman’s social media accounts.  Did you know he has a Twitter account that started in 2013 with 76.1K followers but he has a total of 16 tweets?  Hopefully the WWE has told him to get more active on Twitter because of those 16 tweets, 5 have been this month. While Strowman doesn’t say a whole bunch, his tweets

William James Myers, has passed away at the age of 79. The pro wrestler's death was confirmed by his wife Patricia, who revealed that he passed from kidney failure last night in Florida. The wrestling legend had been in and out of hospice care since April.

TMZ broke the news of George 'The Animal' Steele's passing last night, although wrestling promoter Eric Simms of Ess Promotions had previously shared that the late wrestler had entered hospice care, asking fans to pray for him, before he ultimately passed. This morning, a number of WWE Superstars took to Twitter to pay tribute to this wrestling legend, and the WWE released a statement, confirming George 'The Animal' Steele's death. Braun Strowman “chewed out” by Vince McMahon backstage, another WWE star injured

15 February 2017 11:32 PM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The annual build to Wrestlemania isn’t just ridiculously full of part-timers. It’s also ridiculously full of injuries.

In 2017 so far alone we’ve already had Seth Rollins reinjure his McL, Rich Swann lose his Cruiserweight title shot because of a busted ankle, Tony Nese being taken off TV for hurting his foot, Nikki Bella reportedly experiencing numbness in one side of her body and Darren Young undergoing elbow surgery.

As revealed on Tuesday’s episode of Smackdown Live, Naomi has added her name to the li-i…I can’t make that joke right now – confirming she picked up an injury during her Women’s Championship win at Sunday’s Elimination Chamber. The exact nature of the injury wasn’t disclosed, but going by the knee brace she was wearing, it’s probably somewhere on her leg.

CageSideSeats are reporting that Naomi’s injury is indeed legitimate, so not a fake storyline angle, »

WWE Monday Night Raw Reaction 2/13/2017

14 February 2017 6:55 PM, PST | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

Monday Night Raw is complete for another week. We had some interesting developments on the show, what with the Raw Women’s Championship Match, the sit down interview with Samoa Joe, and the Festival of Friendship. So how did the show go?

The Samoa Joe interview with Michael Cole was amazing. It gives us a great insight into Samoa Joe's character. What I loved most about the interview was the intensity he brought. He was able to tie in the very legitimate anger he feels for not being called to the WWE for 18 years into the story which made the whole interview feel real. I think back to similar interviews the WWE has held before for people like Mankind and Triple H. When they find a way to take a real life issue and weave it into a current story line, we as the fans end up winning because »

James Corden’s Parents Spend Their 45th Wedding Anniversary at the Grammys

12 February 2017 7:37 PM, PST | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

Nobody was more nervous about James Corden‘s debut as host of this year’s Grammy Awards than his parents, Margaret and Malcolm Corden.

“We’re terrified really,” Margaret told Kevin Frazier and Nancy O’Dell, during Sunday’s CBS pre-show, about her son’s emcee gig. “It’s something new, pretty special,” she added.

Fear wasn’t their only emotion: “We’re so proud of him” Malcolm said.

And not only were the proud parents dressed up for music’s biggest night, they also celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in a very special way — toasting the milestone from the awards show stage, »

WWE Monday Night Raw In Person Reaction 2/6/2017

7 February 2017 12:00 AM, PST | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

Portland, Oregon is a city rich in history when it comes to professional wrestling. Starting with the territory owned by Don Owens, it saw the rise of performers like Billy Jack Haynes, Jimmy Snuka, and the legendary “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. Today, the big dog in town of course is the WWE. Tonight at the Moda Center, the WWE held Monday Night Raw and I had the pleasure of attending the show live.

WWE Camera Crew at work

This was not the first Monday Night Raw I’ve ever attended. That distinction belongs to the episode that played on August 27th, 2001 at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Time flies when you’re having fun and to think that close to sixteen years have passed since I last attended an episode of Raw blows my mind. (I did attend the WWE Pay per View The Bash in 2009 at Arco Arena in Sacramento, »

Review: This Was The Xfl

5 February 2017 3:49 PM, PST | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

In 2000, the WWE could do no wrong. They were at the top of the ratings chart with Monday Night Raw, The Rock was just hitting his stride as one of the greatest performers in wrestling history, and the company made it’s way public, becoming listed on the New York Stock Exchange. So when the WWE announced they had plans to create a new football league, to say people were interested is putting it mildly.

This Was The Xfl is a documentary detailing the life and times of the failed football league the WWE and NBC created. It’s a warts and all look at what went into the creation of the league and the events that led to it’s demise.

What struck me about the documentary was the confirmation of something I’ve already suspected and that’s the fact that Vince McMahon put no real thought into the development of the league. »

WWE Monday Night Raw Reaction 1/30/2017

Monday Night Raw is in the books for another week. One day after the aftermath of the Royal Rumble, the Raw brand finds itself on the Road to Wrestlemania. How did the show fare this week?

One big development is the official challenge from Brock Lesnar to Goldberg for one last match at Wrestlemania. Brock’s advocate, the legendary Paul Heyman, once again did the talking for him which, even on Paul’s worst night, is always a treat to watch.

Heyman’s promo on Raw was the textbook reason why some people need managers. Brock Lesnar, unless he’s in an interview setting, is about as interesting on the mic as watching paint dry. (I say this with confidence because he’s not in the room with me as I write this. If he were to walk into the room right now, I would say ‘Yes Mr. Lesnar, you »

WWE Royal Rumble 2017 – Results & Review

31 January 2017 1:01 AM, PST | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

In my 25 years as a wrestling fan, Royal Rumble has always been one of my favourite annual events. The opportunity to see a bunch of your favourite WWE stars and the potential for surprises make it a night to keep an eye on. This year has some interesting matches, and the Rumble itself it set to be a star-studded affair featuring a handful of veteran names from the past, primarily Goldberg, Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker.

The Kick-Off show matches began with the women of Smackdown Live going at it in a six-woman tag team match. It was a shame that this seemingly got bumped from the main show, and I hope more effort is given to the women’s division on Smackdown soon. There are seperate feuds going on, so maybe we will see multiple women’s matches at the next Smackdown Live exclusive PPV. Nikki Bella, Naomi and »

John Cena Wrestlemania 33 match revealed? Vince McMahon unhappy with Goldberg…

26 January 2017 9:58 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

January is nearly over, which means most of us are already back to eating pizza every other night, binge drinking over the weekend and spending all our money on frivolous things.

Don’t judge me. That Roman Reigns Dog Leash wasn’t going to buy itself.

Statistically, a lot of our New Year’s Resolutions have failed by now, so congratulations to Big Show and Braun Strowman who, as pointed out by a fan on Twitter, have gotten themselves in great shape since last year.

Big Show’s new physique is most probably for his expected high-profile match against Shaquille O’Neal at Wrestlemania 33, but what else is currently on WWE’s biggest card of the year?

WWE Monday Night Raw Reaction 1/23/2017

24 January 2017 11:51 PM, PST | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

We are a few days away from the Royal Rumble. Monday Night Raw is in the books. How did the flagship show for the WWE do this week to prepare the fans for one of their biggest shows of the year?

I really enjoyed the sit down interviews between Bayley and Charlotte Flair, hyping their match for the Raw Women’s Championship at the Royal Rumble. Thinking back ten years ago, women were not given an opportunity to give promos like this. Granted, most of the women the WWE had on the roster ten years ago were more concerned about getting a television show credit on their resume than on performing well in the ring but that’s another story all together. The interview with Bayley did a lot to expand on her character for the casual audience. Nxt fans are well aware of how good she is on the »

Roman Reigns Wrestlemania 33 plans in trouble, Kenny Omega interested in WWE…

19 January 2017 9:29 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

I may not be William Regal, but I fancy myself as a bit of a wrestling talent scout. And if I’ve learnt anything from Vince McMahon’s star-making strategy over the years, it’s definitely that quantity overcomes quality in tests of strength.

So imagine my delight when The Sun reported on a 25 year old, 6 foot 3, 960 pound man called Arbab Khizer Hayat, who consumes 10,000 calories a day to maintain his massive bulk – which consists of 36 eggs, 7lb of meat, five litres of milk and more.

If you need a reference point, that’s half the amount of Ryback’s mid-morning snack.

He’s currently a strongman who can apparently lift a tractor with his bare hands, but he has grander ambitions.

“My immediate goal is to enter World Wrestling Entertainment competitions…I want to represent Pakistan at WWE. God willing I’ll appear in 2017.”

Competitions? I’m not sure he understands how WWE works. »

Monday Night Raw Reaction 1/16/2017

17 January 2017 1:16 AM, PST | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

Monday Night Raw is in the books for the week. We’re now less than two weeks away from the Royal Rumble. How did the Raw brand do building up to one of the WWE’s big events of the year?

Pretty darn good if you ask me. The big complaint with Raw is the three hour run time which tends to drag about halfway in. Yet this episode, while not a classic, did a lot to keep you entertained for the whole three hours.

The highlight of the show was the Six Man Tag that closed it. Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, and Braun Strowman faced off against Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Sami Zayn. On other nights, the WWE would have had the good guys win the show but not on this night. They did some great work showcasing Braun Strowman as an unstoppable beast. Plus they finally had »

WWE Hall of Famer 'Superfly'Jimmy Snuka Passes Away

15 January 2017 1:16 PM, PST | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

On September 18th, 1989, I attend my first WWE Live Event. It was a House Show at the old Stadium Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Main Event of the show saw The Ultimate Warrior face off against Andre the Giant for the Intercontinental Championship. Other legends that were a part of the show were Shawn Michaels and Marty Janetty, Rick The Model Martel, Barry Windham, The Honky Tonk Man, and Superfly Jimmy Snuka.

I bring this up because word came out today that Jimmy Snuka has passed away at the age of 73 due to stomach cancer. His work in the ring speaks for itself. He was a legend that helped inspire the likes of Mick Foley to lace up the boots and become competitors themselves. He was also the first notch on The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at Wrestlemania when The Undertaker defeated him at Wrestlemania 7. He also had a »

Rumored list of WWE Hall Of Fame 2017 Inductees

This time of year the WWE makes every effort they can to step up their performance. With Wrestlemania around the corner, they want to make sure as many eyes as possible are watching the Granddaddy of Them All. It’s also a time to reflect and honor the past as this is usually the time of year they start announcing the next WWE Hall of Fame class. Thanks to Bryan Alvarez from the Wrestling Observer, we may have some clue as to who will be a part of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2017. Let’s discuss the picks now but remember, until they’re confirmed by the WWE, these choices are strictly rumor at this point.

Diamond Dallas Page

A deserving choice if there ever was one. Starting off as a manager, he worked his way up in his late 30’s to become a wrestler and eventual WCW World Champion. »
