Goldberg post-Wrestlemania WWE status, WWE offer Matt & Jeff Hardy contracts

22 March 2017 12:15 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The President of the United States right now is a WWE Hall of Famer. The head of the government’s Small Business Administration is the wife of Vince McMahon. We live in interesting times. But four time WWE Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte as the Secretary of Defence is a step too far.

— Charlotte Flair (@MsCharlotteWWE) March 21, 2017

Of course, Charlotte isn’t really in charge of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force. She took the photo when visiting the Pentagon last night with Linda and Stephanie McMahon. That’s the five sided headquarters of the Us’ Department of Defence Pentagon – not the Lucha Underground wrestler Pentagon.

Yes, I did only include this story to make that joke.

WWE Monday Night Raw Reaction 3/20/2017

22 March 2017 12:12 AM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

We're a couple weeks away from the biggest show of the year, Wrestlemania. Traditionally, the WWE has gone all out in trying to build up interest for what they call "The Showcase of the Immortals." This year, we have the WWE once again in a brand split, trying to create two separate shows with two separate identites that never intermingle. Former WWE announcer and WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross stated back in July when the brand split first occurred that we as fans would best be able to judge the success of the brand split by Wrestlemania time. So, with Wrestlemania 33 happening on April 2nd and being shown live on the WWE Network, how did Monday Night Raw add up this week?

The show opened with Mick Foley being fired as Raw General Manager. In real life, Foley has hip surgery coming up soon to help aleviate some of »

The Terminator Franchise Has Been Terminated

21 March 2017 9:28 PM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

The New York Daily News is reporting that Paramount Pictures has declined the chance to make a follow up to Terminator: Genisys, the last film in the Terminator franchise. While the film made money at the box office, the critical drubbing the film received made the prospects of another sequel daunting to say the least. Add to that the fact that Arnold Schwarzenegger is in his 70's and the chance anyone had of striking gold again with this series has gone the way of the dodo.

The first two films in the series are classics. The rest are mediocre at best. To me, the franchise suffered  simply because the people in charge of the various sequels not named James Cameron didn't really understand the source material and tried to add depth to a story that didn't really need it. Terminator 2: Judgement Day was a perfect capstone for the series. »

WWE respond to Paige sex tape hacking, Shinsuke Nakamura main roster update

Ultimate Warrior, Bruno Sammartino, Kurt Angle – of all the surprising names that have returned to WWE over the years, the most astonishing one happened yesterday: WWE have announced on Twitter that Jim Cornette will be inducting The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express at this year’s Hall of Fame ceremony.

Breaking: The #RockNRollExpress will be inducted into the #Wwehof Class of 2017 by @TheJimCornette! https://t.co/aFp0rSb1cJ pic.twitter.com/pD8vQ0QSwN

WWE (@WWE) March 20, 2017

‘Why’s that so unexpected?’ you might ask. ‘Jim Cornette was part of The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express’ greatest rivalries – against teams like The Midnight Express and the Heavenly Bodies!’ It’s because of Cornette’s shoot comments about WWE and its various officials in the past. For instance, like this on Head of Production Kevin Dunn:

A Message To WWE Diva Paige and All The Other Celebs Whose Photos Were Exposed

21 March 2017 3:30 AM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Xavier Woods appeared on Monday Night Raw only days after a tape was leaked that is believed to show him engaged in sexual activity with WWE Diva Paige. It’s also fair to say he was looking somewhat sheepish after the revelation that has shocked the WWE universe. Xavier Woods decided not to talk about the sex tape after being given ‘the look’ by team-mates Kofi Kingston and Big E on WWE Raw last night. He probably made the right decision as are most celebrities by deciding not to say anything and let this whole thing play out. But as I’ve

WWE’s Chris Jericho Tells Us Where He Keeps ‘The List’ and What He Was Actually Writing on It

This afternoon, I took up almost 20 minutes of Chris Jericho’s super-busy Monday, asked him a few borderline-asinine questions, and didn’t even make “The List.” To say I’m disappointed would be an understatement. After all, there is arguably no better WWE accessory this winter than Y2J’s “The List of Jericho,” generally reserved for those the pro wrestling icon labels a “stupid idiot.” Of course, like so many things meant to be insulting to the “Monday Night Raw” crowd, the fans eat it up — and replicas of the prop now sells as official WWE merchandise. Naturally, we had to ask the. »

Roman Reigns to WWE Smackdown? Wrestlemania 33 surprise return revealed?

20 March 2017 11:54 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The Undertaker disappearing from WWE for long periods of time is pretty expected. Those souls ain’t gonna dig their own holes. But Kane – in a rather unique feat for a ‘big guy’ wrestler – has had very few extended periods off in his WWE career. That is, until recently – where his last WWE appearance was losing to Baron Corbin on the 22nd November episode of Smackdown Live.

SportsKeeda are reporting that The Big Red Machine has been granted time off from WWE to prepare for his Knox County mayor campaign for 2018 and to work on his insurance agency business with his wife – which offers coverage for your car, home, motorcycle, Rv, boat and life. Although getting sold life insurance from Kane might feel like a thinly veiled threat.

As you’re probably already aware, there was a pretty big wrestling video leak over the weekend. Being a wrestling news column, it’s something we have to cover…

Southpaw Regional Wrestling has debuted on WWE’s YouTube channel!

The video cassette ‘footage’ from February 1987 provides a rare glimpse at some of the era’s biggest stars, such as Tex Ferguson, Big Bartholomew and Sea Creature.

The series actually appears to be a cleverly designed piece of branded content, with the ‘Ric Flair impersonator’ plugging KFC in every episode. Lance Catamaran himself has tweeted how to we can get more Southpaw:

Thank U @WWEUniverse @WWE for the feedback on #SouthpawRegionalWrestling congrats to its creator @Pelle1105 if U want more,Ask Him Asap #Srw

Wrestlemania 33 plans still not finalized, major Tna returns…

17 March 2017 10:34 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Last night saw the second episode of Tna Impact Wrestling under the new creative direction of Jeff Jarrett. As their YouTube video revealed earlier this week, the show had Alberto El Patron relinquishing his newly won World Heavyweight Championship back to Bobby Lashley. Vacant demands justice!

The show also saw the big return of Lax! The former-tna faction, not the Los Angeles-based airport. Original founders Konnan – who had the brilliant line “we’re serious, like a late period” – and Homicide returned in the episode’s main event segment, bringing with them new members Diamante, Angel Ortiz and Mike Draztik. They took out Decay to position themselves at the top of the Tag Team Championship picture. The titles are currently up for grabs, being taken off of previous champions the Broken Hardys when they failed to resign with the company. Vacant receives justice!

Hulk Hogan returning to WWE? Why Wrestlemania 33 match cancelled

17 March 2017 8:31 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

I’d like to wish everyone a happy belated Stone Cold Steve Austin day, as yesterday was – of course – the 16th March. A date abbreviated in the American format as ‘3.16’. I hope you all celebrated by inappropriately drinking beer at work and then Stone Cold stunnering your boss.

But far more important is what happens today – Southpaw Regional Wrestling’s debut on the WWE Network.

PWInsider have revealed the idea for the show was first pitched in WWE last September, and is a parody of old school Southern wrasslin’ promotions. It will also see Luke Gallows playing his Sex Ferguson character – renamed Tex Ferguson because PG – which the Good Brother has spoken about to Fox Sports:

“It’s a lot of stuff that the guys have been doing for years backstage to entertain each other. I know my character in particular has been an ongoing thing for the better part of a decade. »

WWE Monday Night Raw Reaction 3/13/2017

15 March 2017 12:11 AM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

We're less than twenty days to Wrestlemania and Monday Night Raw is in the books. As we head toward the WWE's biggest show of the year, we saw Brock Lesnar make an appearance hyping his match against Goldberg at Wrestlemania, Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe faced off against Sami Zayn and Chris Jericho in a tag team match, and Roman Reigns have a discussion with the legendary Shawn Michaels discussing Roman's upcoming match against The Undertaker. How did the Red Brand of the WWE stack up?

The opening of the show with Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar was another instance of Paul Heyman giving a free lesson in how to give a promo in the ring. On his worst night, Paul Heyman is better on the mic than most people that have ever laced up boots in the history of professional wrestling. Brock Lesnar himself seemed more animated than he usually does in the ring, »

After being taken out by injury last August, having to relinquish his newly won Universal Championship, Finn Balor is advertised to be making his in-ring return tonight at the WWE Raw live event in Buffalo, New York. Wrestling News World reported yesterday that originally he was meant to make his return on Monday night’s episode, but because Undertaker’s appearance had been pushed back from Fastlane to Raw, Balor got bumped because they didn’t want two returns on the same show.

But that hasn’t stopped him training hard for his return, as his tweet with the original Too Sweeters the Kliq shows.

WWE edit out ‘Roman Reigns sucks’ chants from Raw, backstage heat on WWE star?

One of my big problems with WWE Raw these days is that the matches don’t feel like they have stakes. And no, ice cream blueprints don’t count.

So we have to look to wrestling’s lively and innovative independent scene, specifically the promotion WrestlePro – where you can see former WWE star Ryback take on Ring of Honor’s Colt Cabana in a Cm Punk action figure on a pole match.

Cabana has been friends with Punk since when they broke into the business together, while Ryback found himself a recurring subject in the Straightedge Superstar’s shoot Art of Wrestling podcast. There better be a ‘dumb as f***’ chant’ at that show. »

WWE Monday Night Raw Reaction 3/6/2017

7 March 2017 8:12 PM, PST | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

Monday Night Raw is complete for another week. On the heels of the Fastlane Pay Per View, how did the WWE Red Brand do in setting themselves up for the Road to Wrestlemania?

The big news of the night involved the ending of the show. Braun Strowman called out Roman Reigns to finish what they started the previous night. As Roman comes to the ring, The Undertaker’s music hits. Braun gives the ring to The Undertaker out of respect who promptly choke slammed Roman Reigns much to the delight of the crowd.

While no match was announced, rumor has it a match we’ll be seeing at the show of shows will be Roman Reigns vs The Undertaker. While I have no issue with the match itself, I do think the creative folks at the WWE are fooling themselves if they think that Roman Reigns being anything other than »

WWE Fastlane 2017 – Results & Review

Well the road to Wrestlemania continues for the WWE with the Raw-exclusive pay-per-view Fastlane, one of the companies lesser PPV’s… For most fans this is just the WWE spinning it’s wheels while waiting for the biggest event in the wrestling calendar.

Taking place at the Bmo Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Fastlane opens with a video package showing all the big matches: Owens vs Goldberg, Bayley vs Charlotte, and Reigns vs Strowman. So we know right there that the only titles possibly changing hands in this event will be either the Womens Title or Universal Championship – Gallows and Anderson surely to retain given the non-focus on their match.

As always Spoilers if you haven’t seen the PPV yet…

Opening Fastlane is Samoa Joe vs Sami Zayn in a match that is sure to Not live up to the fantastic Nxt rivalry the pair had prior to their subsequent call-ups. »

Sounds kind of sexual there, actually, Kevin Owens. Best leave that stuff to Tom Phillips. Who rather wisely – considering his recently leaked sexting Tomspiracy – wasn’t in charge of WWE’s social media lounge last night.

In the end, though, it was Ko who got screwed, where Chris Jericho’s beard made its WWE return just before the bell rang. Goldberg hit a spear, a jackhammer and became the new Universal Champion.

With Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe seemingly aligning with Triple H, many are speculating that we could be seeing the formation of The Authority 2.0.

If, for some bizarre reason, you want to relive The Authority’s first incarnation, you can pick up WWE’s official comic book that’s been detailing Seth Rollins siding with the McMahon-Helmsley faction. In a recent issue, Seth meets up with Triple H on The Game’s evil super-yacht base called The Sea-Rebral Assassin.

I want us all to take a moment to recognise what a solid pun that is.

We also need to recognise another achievement – Ring of Honor’s 15th anniversary.

The promotion’s first show – The Era of Honor Begins – was held on the 23rd February, 2002. The main event had Low Ki defeating Christopher Daniels and Daniel Bryan, with Eddie Guerrero, Super Crazy and Brian Kendrick also on the card.

WWE edit joke out of Raw, Vince McMahon “unhappy” with The Rock for Cm Punk call

Icymi – which is a popular Internet abbreviation for ‘In Case You Missed It’, a time-saving acronym that becomes rather pointless if you then explain what it means… – The Rock appeared at this week’s WWE Raw.

He wasn’t on the actual television broadcast. He only appeared in front of the Staples Center crowd before and after Raw to shoot scenes for his new movie Fighting With My Family, which is based on the life of WWE wrestler and two-time Wellness Policy violator Paige.

They were specifically recreating Paige’s main roster debut, where she won the Divas Title from Aj Lee. This caused the crowd to chant for Lee’s real-life husband Cm Punk. To quell the chants, Rock ‘The Dwayne’ Johnson attempted to FaceTime Punk, leaving a voicemail on his phone.

Monday Night Raw is in the books for another week. Raw is building towards Fastlane, the last stop in the road before Wrestlemania. How did the show fare?

Roman Reigns faced off against Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson in a handicap match. You would think that the WWE Tag Team Champions would find a way to finish off Roman Reigns easily and in quick order yet they ended up winning the match by Dq after Roman took a chair from Luke Gallows and hit him with it. Why have Anderson and Gallows be your Tag Team Champions and yet go out of your way to make them look weak? I get that not everyone is going to win each and every week but you would think that during a handicap match of all things, the Tag Team Champs would find a way to easily handle one person.
