The struggles and joys of small time, community, activism
22 January 1999 | by (Boston, Massachusetts) – See all my reviews

The film documents a Colrain, MA. couple's principled refusal to pay federal income "war" tax, the support community that formed in response to the confiscation of their home by the IRS, and the conflict with the young couple with newborn who bought the home at a government auction. In the end I was not convinced that withholding taxes was a sustainable form of protest, but it was wonderful to see a balanced story of real people peacefully defending their convictions.
