Starsky & Hutch Star To Join BBC Hospital Drama

20 December 2000 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Former "Starsky and Hutch" (1975) heart-throb David Soul is to join the BBC hospital drama "Holby City" (1999). The husky-voiced actor, who overcame a severe drinking problem in the '80s, shot to fame in the '70s as cop Ken "Hutch" Hutchinson. But he has been living and working in London for the past five years - and was invited to appear on Holby City after the BBC's Head of Drama Mal Young saw him perform on stage. Mal said, "Being a Starsky and Hutch fan, I went to see David acting in the West End. I though he'd be brilliant as a surgeon in Holby and asked him to join." The British show's ten million fans will begin enjoying David in the spring. »
