Storyline

Four friends play an evening game of dominoes, drink, and talk about women. As Glenn asks, who would know that such a good time would turn into this? Each one is going through or has recently experienced a painful breakup. Wesley seems to have worked through his, even though it took him close to suicide. Glenn turns inward; he's depressed and sometimes weepy. Chris seems mad at the world. Sammy looks low-key and self-contained. They know too much about each other, so as the dominoes clack and the liquor flows, the hostility they've been expressing about women gets turned toward each other. Emotions and beliefs about manhood churn. How will the evening end? Written by <jhailey@hotmail.com>

Glenn: She's doing fine man, thanks. She lifts my spirits. You know what she said to me? She said, "Daddy, I told you to marry Mommy."
Wesley: Well, you did ask her, right?
Glenn: She said, I was too late.
Chris: Wait a minute. You waited fourteen years. How long you expect the bitch to wait?

Well-made drama about the different ways that men handle...

1st watched 9/28/2001 - 7 out of 10(Dir-Kennedy Goldsby): Well-made drama about the different ways that men handle their relationships with women. This movie basically is played out using a friendly game of dominoes as the playing field with four men discussing their approach to handling women and the rejection they have felt from them in their life. The discussion is mainly centered around one man and his current ensuing divorce and how each other man at the table either consoles, challenges or defends this man who is subject to this rejection. There is some of the women's viewpoint which is explored with some scenes with them discussing the current situation but these scenes are at a minimum. This is intended to be a man's movie about his dealing with the emotions that surround male-female relationships with very little input from 'the other side.' This in itself is very unique that a movie would focus on the male perspective to the depth that this movie does and I believe it should be given credit for this. The ending (without given away too many details) is surprising and almost puts a whodunit flavor into the movie which begs the question as to why this was done. The rest of the movie is flat-out drama but the twist in the ending seems out of character for what the movie was

trying to do(give information without answering questions). The answer(according to my perspective on the ending) was not a pleasant one but maybe realistic of the thinking of men who have been put in these positions (according to this movie) by women. Thought-provoking movie throughout despite some flaws would be benefited from many people viewing this(both men and women).
