CHASE A FORTUNE is a standard Hong Kong comedy centred around the world of professional fighting. The hero a pro boxer who accidentally injures a reporter and ends up looking after him, but these are just two of a big cast of assorted characters who come and go as the storyline develops: a bunch of crazy paparazzi, Danny Lee as an unscrupulous gambler, as well as the usual romantic interests and buddies. It's familiar stuff, shot on a low budget but with plenty of cameos from Hong Kong's finest character actors along the way. Where it really impresses is at the fight-fuelled climax, which restages ROCKY to an exhilarating degree. Listen out for the random ADDAMS FAMILY musical cue used throughout.
