Spartacus Casts Julius Caesar, Marcus Crassus for Third Season
Just how can you do justice in casting someone to play one of the most famous men in history?
Spartacus has at least partially answered that question, having officially announced the men to play Julius Caesar and Marcus Crassus. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Todd Lasance will star as the future Roman emperor, marching toward the throne when we pick up with him in season three. Caesar may have the intellect capable to take on Spartacus, but he's also got enough aptitude in battle to pose a real threat. Crassus, on the other hand, will be played by Simon Merrells; considered one of the richest men in history, he has the ambition and thirst for power to be a danger, particularly if paired with someone like Caesar.
