Storyline

A young woman was left mentally disabled after a car crash twenty years previously, a condition which her mother has never come to accept. Thus she favors her other "normal" daughter and basically tolerates the other daughter's existence. It also doesn't help that her husband also has some mental disabilities. As the family slowly divides, the older daughter's unconditional love rises. Written by John Sacksteder <jsackste@bellsouth.net>

Don't miss this excellent movie!
29 September 2007 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

You may go into this movie expecting the typical made-for-TV movie downfalls (cheesy acting, cheap sentiment, washed-up stars, and low production values) but other than the tell-tale weak musical score, this movie delivers honest performances and a truly touching story of triumph over personal adversity.

As an avid movie-goer, I can assure you that this movie is better than most of the movies I have seen in theaters during the past few years. All the performances were top-notch, with a stand-out performance by Lynn Redgrave, who makes you hate her, yet redeems herself in the end.

I count Annabeth Gish's depiction of a mentally challenged person as convincing as those of A-list actors who have attempted similar roles in the past.
