The Banks family, a respectable Californian family, take in a relative - Will Smith, a street-smart teenager from Philadelphia. The idea is to make him respectable, responsible and mature, but Will has got other plans...
The Griffin household includes two teenagers, a cynical dog who is smarter than everyone else, and an evil baby who makes numerous attempts to eradicate his mother. Heading up this eclectic household is Peter Griffin. Peter does his best to do what's right for the family, but along the way, he makes mistakes that are the stuff of legends. Written by
Like real-life children, Chris and Meg share the facial/body features of their parents, Peter and Lois. Meg has the same hairstyle, nose, and mouth as Lois (although Lois is considered very attractive and Meg very ugly in the show's universe) and has brown hair and wears glasses like Peter. As for Chris, he has eyes like Lois and a nose, mouth and dimpled chin like Peter. Chris has one attribute he shares with neither parent: His blonde hair. However in the early pre-production stages of the series, Lois was supposed to have blonde hair but the creative team decided to make her a red head (See IMDb trivia elsewhere on page). Despite the change, they chose to leave Chris' hair blonde. See more »
Peter's shirt buttons the wrong way. Men's shirts button with the left side over the right side, but Peter's shirt is backwards, in the same direction as Lois's shirt. Occasionally, but very rarely, this changes. See more »

Every few seasons, the instrumental version of the title theme that plays over the end credits is replaced with a new arrangement. To date there have been 5 main arrangements of the closing credits theme (this, of course, does not include "one-shot" versions that are relative to a specific episode.) See more »
My favourite characters in family are Brian and Stewie and I like the episodes when it mainly features them such as "Road to Rhode Island" (Season 2), as they interact very well. The comments they make just have me in stitches. Peter's behaviour is also very funny as some of the things he does "are just so brilliant they're retarded." The voice acting is excellent, especially Seth MacFarlane as he provides the voices for half of the Griffin family as well as their perverted neighbour Glenn Quagmire and how he manages this range (particularly with singing) I just don't know. He deserves his two Emmy's for providing the voice of evil baby genius Stewie. Adam West also steals the show with his funny and completely insane regular character the mayor of Quahog. What I like about Chris (voiced by Seth Green) is the things he says show that he takes after his father when it comes to intelligence and common sense.
The only thing I have found annoying is that in the UK Fox has decided to change the seasons to increase DVD sales, which in no way reflect the programme itself but rather the marketing.
If you enjoy Family Guy then I would thoroughly recommend Seth MacFarlane's other project American Dad which uses a different style of humour but is still extremely hilarious.
