Storyline

Mr. and Mrs. Ashley Carter are a couple with a peculiar fixation: they're fascinated with the rituals and trappings of death. They bring flowers to the burials of transients; they eavesdrop on the will-readings of people they've never met. But when a man they've never met inexplicably bequeathes his cremated remains to them, the detachment they've always maintained between themselves and the mourners they mingle with begins to crumble. As they uncover the circumstances surrounding the man's demise, their investigation draws them ever closer to the heart of their own obsession: death itself. An excellent, eerie short
17 December 2001 | by (San Francisco, California) – See all my reviews

A beautifully filmed, eerie short film. Ashes to Ashes leaves you laughing uncomfortably and wondering a little about you moody neighbor. It's hard to find (unless you frequent film festivals or just happen to know the director) but well worth seeing if you can find it.
