Over the past couple months, the standalone Han Solo Star Wars spinoff has gone through a lot of drama. Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were ejected from the director’s chair, and in their place, Lucasfilm placed the season veteran Ron Howard. The film still looks to make its May 2018 release date, but there’s no doubt that Howard has his work cut out for him.
Though while they’ve hit a massive speed bump, the production trudges forward, and according to The Star Wars Show, the Han Solo film has locked down their composer. Putting together the dulcet tones for the film is John Powell. He may be no Michael Giacchino or John Williams as far as recognition, but he’s done plenty of quality music.
