a romantic documentary
28 October 2002 | by (hongkong) – See all my reviews

This movie to me is a romantic documentary about 1997, and the past value of Hong Kong. The time the love story begun was 70s, and the place Hong Kong. It came to an end in the late 90s, and the place London. Things changed so much during that period of time. Leon Lai and Qi Shu, young men in 70s, acted in accordance with their belief, but what guided the life of those in 90s was estate's price. Very practical the latter may be, but the former is no doubt more romantic. Of course, romantic is also a costly event, and their belief cost really too much. The scene that the girl visited her boy friend in prison is the part most moving to me. This movie is also a beautiful love story. The cinematography is quite good, and Qi Shu is an actress very impressive.
