8 January 2015 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

Ann Pennington plays Justina Howland, a young girl living in Mexico with her Uncle who is her guardian after the death of her parents. He soon insists she marry his son so he can gain control of the rich mines the young girl will inherit. Justina runs away and tries to journey to her Aunt Elizabeth who lives in Lowell, Massachusetts, but she is detained at the border by American troops. Lieutenant Thomas Morgan ( Owen Moore ) befriends the desperate girl and helps her reach her Aunt's home. Her Uncle pursues her to Lowell, and in order to escape being taken back to Mexico, Justina disguises herself as a boy scout. She joins the troops who are now in charge by Lieutenant Morgan, who happens to be in Lowell. When her Uncle discovers her disguise, he tries to force her to back to Mexico, but to his shock, he is to late as Justina is now married to Lieutenant Thomas Morgan .

Produced by Famous Players Film Company and distributed through Paramount Pictures, this 1917 silent film pairing Ann Pennington and Owen Moore is now a lost film.
