Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Men are frequently shirtless.

Women frequently wear clothes that are tight and reveal some skin. Nothing explicit.

There is one scene where Joseph's master's wife is said to "see a lot of men against his [her husband] will". She tries to seduce Joseph by telling him to lie down with her. He resists. In this scene, the women wear revealing clothes that appear to reveal their "breasts". It is actually tan material (like worn by figure skaters) with glitter where their nipples would be.

Violence & Gore

The brothers attack Joseph (not graphic at all) and then rip his coat and dip the coat in animals blood.

Profanity

None.

Close up of a man smoking a cigarette and blowing smoke. Other men smoking and drinking.

The musical has themes of 11 brothers hating, attacking, planning to kill, and selling their brother.

The scene where Joseph is in prison can be disturbing because it is dark and he is very depressed.

There is a seven year famine that is said to be causing many people distress.
