The subtle trick Showtime's "Penny Dreadful is that it is far less about the blood, gore and the specter of gruesome death than the sharp pain and exhilarating pleasure of living, and the terror of feeling alone even in close company. Read our review in the May Picks section.
Hello, I'm French(sorry for the orthographies errors), and I like this show. 6 detectives of the Criminal Police at the 36, Quai des Orfèvres in Paris, investigate on murders. The detectives are:
Françoise Galliot(played by Clotilde de Bayser)(season 1;2;3;4) is the chief of the team. She is a very authoritative woman. She is a good friend of Scandella.
Hélène Vallon(played by Isabel Otéro)(season 5;6;7;8;9) is the second chief of the team after Galliot's departure.
Jean-Louis Scandella(played by Didier Cauchy): He is a good friend of Paulo and Françoise, and he felt in love with Caroline, and after with Vallon the 2nd chief. He become the new chief after Vallons 'departure.
Michel Lemarchand(played by Jean-François Garreaud): A very mystery man.
Paul "Paulo" Maureau(played by Teco Celio): The best friend of Scandella
Alexandre "Sisko" Siskowski(played by Dominique Guillo): A young detective.
Caroline Tessier(played by Agathe de La Boulaye)(episodes 1-13). She was in love with Scandella but she was murdered.
And more... I think the show was good during the 9 first seasons when Galliot, and after Vallon, was the chief of team. After that Hélène Vallon left the team, the show was not as much so good.
