A new temp mistakenly puts a call through to Alan from Diane Summers, one of the country's most successful investigative journalists. Convinced they're the target of an exposé, they plan to beat her at her own game.
Richard is still trapped in Bogota working at one of Moses's new stations. Back at Pyramid, all is not well. The shareholders are out for blood when Alan gives himself a huge bonus after the worst set of losses in the company's history.
Alan sends Victor to the Cayman Islands to deposit money he "borrowed" from the company. While in Australia, Alan talks about how he saved "The Sword of Damacles." The show has taken on a far more homoerotic undertone now that Richard has added a young and virile sidekick.
Contrary to popular opinion, Alan sees no future for the Internet. Richard and Veronica dabble in a little insider trading after Pyramid is approached for their content by a happening Internet company. Meanwhile, Victor goes clubbing.
Wrongly imprisoned, Dean Sutherland attempts to sell his story to Pyramid as a movie of the week. However, Alan has reservations as he does not trust the DNA evidence that freed him and points the finger at Sutherland when his new Palm Pilot goes missing. Meanwhile, Wanda and Veronica fight over the new man in the office.
