Lonzo Ball Obliterates UCLA Engineer Student In Dunk-Off (Video)

  • TMZ
This is amazing ... UCLA superstar Lonzo Ball accepted a dunk-off challenge from a fellow Bruin student ... and it ended with a Kill Shot!!  It's great video -- non-collegiate athlete Kevin Wei (who's studying for his degree in Applied Mathematics/Computer Science) went to Pauley Pavilion for the 1-on-1 dunk-off.  Wei actually managed to Dunk On Ball (yeah, it's a lowered rim but still!) -- and that's when Ball decided to exact some hardcore revenge with a windmill powerdunk.

Castle: 4.14 "The Blue Butterfly" Review

Castle: 4.14 "The Blue Butterfly" Review

Well, if there was one thing that I have learned from “The Blue Butterfly” was that keeping my expectations to a minimum was the absolute best choice I could have made. You all know how I felt about the noir aspect of it and how I was expecting it to be a complete disaster (and I got a lot of backlash for that too), but for what it’s worth, I’ve learned my lesson.

It’s better to be pleasantly surprised than sorely disappointed.

In all honesty, “The Blue Butterfly” was not a bad episode. I wasn’t crazy about the noir scenes, even though the costumes and the setting were great. Maybe it’s just that I am not a big fan of the noir style, but the lines, the accents, those just didn’t work for me. That said, I really

Castle | Throughout the intensity of “Kill Shot” and the flirty fun of “Cuffed,” one can’t be blamed for forgetting that there are still a pair of potent secrets being kept — that Rick purposely waved Beckett off the unsolved mystery of her mother’s murder, and Kate remembers Rick’s season finale “I love you.” Castle’s secret “will resurface” by season’s end,

Castle Round Table: "Kill Shot"

  • TVfanatic
Castle ratcheted up the drama last Monday, airing an episode that took Beckett back to the time of her shooting. It was emotional stuff all around, anchored by an outstanding performance from Stana Katic.

Our Round Table panel of Chandel Charles, Jim Garner, Courtney Morrison and Christine Orlando needed a few extra days to analyze "Kill Shot," given all that went down during the hour, but they've finally returned for their weekly Q&A. Pull up a virtual chair and sound off with your thoughts now...

-------------------------------------------

What was your favorite scene?

Chandel: When Esposito made Beckett confront the gun that shot her. It was a really powerful moment and I don't think that anyone other than Esposito could have handled her and the situation quite like he did.

Jim: Beckett and Javier with the sniper rifle. We have never gotten to see the protective side of Javi the way we saw it here.

Sneak Peeks: Castle 4.10 "Cuffed"

Sneak Peeks: Castle 4.10 "Cuffed"

Those one-week hiatus sometimes are the worst, aren't they, Castle fans? I know the wait for next week's midseason finale "Cuffed" has been nearly unbearable, especially after that mindblowing hour of television that was "Kill Shot" last week. In case you haven't checked out my glowing review, you can do so here.

But that was last week, right? Let's talk about what's ahead for our favorite dynamic duo instead. What we know so far is that "Cuffed" will have Castle and Beckett handcuffed to each other for most of the episode. There aren't many details on what exactly is going to go down, but it looks like they will be drugged and abducted and left in a confined space (a basement of sorts, maybe) with no way of getting out and absolutely no memory of how they got there.

According to Stana Katic, who plays Detective Kate Beckett,

I’ve always wanted to see a White Collar/Castle crossover and it looks like I’m an inch closer to my dream.

White Collar actress Hilarie Burton is set to guest star in an upcoming episode of ABC’s Castle, EW has learned. Burton, who also played Peyton on CW’s One Tree Hill for six seasons, will play Kay Cappuccio, a reality TV star with good looks, charisma, and a knockout bod. According to casting scoop, the tabloid darling has “achieved significant fame and fortune without possessing any discernible skill or talent” and “is famous mostly for being famous.

Castle 4.09 "Kill Shot" Review

Castle 4.09 "Kill Shot" Review

Well, that was definitely worth the wait, wasn’t it?

In last night’s Castle, Detective Kate Beckett had to face her own demons when a sniper on the loose in New York City triggered her dormant Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. I know the fandom was insanely excited about “Kill Shot” and I think it is safe to say that the episode delivered the epicness that had been promised. From what I have seen around the internet this morning, it looks like the episode was incredibly well received and that is just great news for the show.

For the past few weeks, I have been getting comments about how people are disappointed in the character of Beckett, how much the dynamic has changed and that they miss the flirty banter from the first two seasons. While I understand where they are coming from – but not entirely agree

'Castle' gets serious: How did you like 'Kill Shot'?

"Castle" is known for its crazy cases and abundance of puns. Or maybe those are just our favorite parts. Either way, "Kill Shot" was one of the most serious and emotional episodes of the series, and we're happy to say it pulled off drama without a hitch.

It's not like this was the first time "Castle" has tackled a serious topic -- the increasingly tense episodes surrounding Beckett's mom's murder at the end of Season 2, culminating in the Captain's murder and then Beckett's shooting, have all been a great change of pace from the funny investigations we're used to -- but this is one of the best times.

Stana Katic's performance of the Ptsd-afflicted Beckett was as emotionally affecting as we expected after speaking with the actress. Our favorite scene: After the third shooting, when Beckett runs into a bathroom, tosses down her gun, jacket and badge, and starts crying.

Castle Review: Paper Dolls Are Not Just Toys...

  • TVfanatic
A recent TV Fanatic interview with Stana Katic told us viewers that this episode was not one to be missed. The actress wasn’t lying. At all.

The latest hour of Castle dealt with a sniper on the loose, which affected Kate in all the wrong ways. It’s okay, you can sit back off the edge of your seat now. Let’s take a breath and discuss "Kill Shot."

Losing Control. Beckett was beyond her element in this case, feeling out of control for pretty much the first time. Her Ptsd came back in full force as soon as the case came about. I have raved over several occasions that Katic is an amazing actress. This episode only solidified that belief. Katic showed such pure raw emotion throughout the hour that this has to be submitted for her Emmy nomination reel.

Earlier in the season, I was surprised when

'Castle' star Stana Katic on the tense 'Kill Shot' and playing a character with Ptsd

As we've already seen in previews of tonight's (Nov. 21) episode of "Castle," "Kill Shot" promises to be one of the most emotional outings yet. As a sniper terrorizes New York City, Det. Beckett not only deals with the usual stress from trying to solve the case, she also struggles to hide the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder she's experiencing after being shot by a sniper in the Season 3 finale.

Although Beckett has been in plenty of high-stress situations since she was shot, this one is different because it directly addresses the shooting, Stana Katic, who plays Beckett, tells Zap2it.

"There's a sniper in New York City and the whole gang is committed to bringing the sniper to justice. But this brings up all these dormant issues for Beckett of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder," she says. "I think it's something unusual for a character like her who is so in control of every investigation,

'Castle' star Stana Katic on tonight's important scene that will alter Castle and Beckett's future

'Castle' star Stana Katic on tonight's important scene that will alter Castle and Beckett's future
Stana Katic had her plate full when producers handed her the script for tonight’s episode “Kill Shot.” But she was more than up for the challenge of having to tackle one of Beckett’s most emotionally raw episodes yet. “I was really excited that we are continuing to delve deeper into the characters and keeping some of those major events we’ve played going and giving them a longer life, which is something that’s true this season,” she says. She’s of course referring to the consequences of Beckett’s shooting last season at the hands of a sniper,
