Troma Night at The Way Out Club: Terror Firmer and Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D.

26 December 2012 7:29 AM, PST | WeAreMovieGeeks.com | See recent WeAreMovieGeeks.com news »

Nothing says ‘The Christmas Season’ like a night of blood, breasts, and puke! Two very different movies from the crazies at Troma Studios will screen Thursday night December 27th at The Way Out Club as our semi-regular monthly Troma Night At The Way Out Club returns!

And we’ve got a great Free double feature.

“You killed my daddy, you maniacal, media-manipulated, homicidal, hermaphrodite freak of nature!”

First, we’re offering Troma’s traditional brand of madness (sleaze, nudity, decapitations, naked starlets, booze, and exploding bodies), with Terror Firmer, the studio’s most twisted, yet acclaimed, movie. A mysterious woman rips off a man’s leg and beats him to death with it as his blood gushes onto the street – she then walks up to a pregnant sunbather and tears a baby from her womb with her bare hands. And this all happens in the first two minutes of Terror Firmer, »

Synopsis:

An out-of-work father goes to extreme measures to raise his baby daughter... with bizarre consequences.

With both screenplay and soundtrack by Cody Goodfellow, the insane premise “starts with a guy with giant boobs, nursing his baby and crying a lot. Then it gets weird from there.”

Have Yourself a Bloody Christmas This October

17 September 2012 2:54 PM, PDT | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

Even though Halloween fever is currently on everyone's minds (and rightly so), after it passes, the holidays will be right around the corner. Might as well start your planning so that they're as full of mayhem as they are mirth, and Bloody Christmas looks to be a great starting point!

From the Press Release

In the grand tradition of holiday horrors (Halloween, April Fool's Day, Happy Birthday to Me) comes Bloody Christmas, a new film from Long Island filmmaker Michael Shershenovich, available via Planetworks and Mvd on October 23rd. The film offers a unique experience by shying away from a typical slasher and drifting into stylish cinematography, all while not taking the subject matter too seriously.

Paul Awful of Movies From Mars writes:

"One scene that stands out visually is a dream sequence (or should I say nightmare) which was shot on 16mm that gets the audience inside a demented and damaged Santa Clause mind. »

Special Features - A Brief History of Troma Entertainment

5 August 2012 5:36 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Luke Owen presents a brief history of the cult production and distribution company Troma Entertainment...

It’s a name that is synonymous among B-Movie horror fans with movies that more often than not fall into the “so bad they’re good” category. Since their inception in 1974, Troma Entertainment’s surreal look at cinema has led them to distribute 97 movies with only a handful actually being made by 'The House That Toxie Built'. Tomorrow, Arrow Films are re-releasing 3 of Troma’s back catalogue: Combat Shock, Class of Nuke ‘Em High and Surf Nazis Must Die on DVD and Blu-ray. So I thought it was about time I would take a look back at what Troma is all about.

Founded in 1974 by filmmakers Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz, Troma Entertainment started out life with the low budget sex comedies Squeeze Play!, Waitress!, Stuck on You! (which Kaufman states is his favourite) and The First Turn On! »

Troma Night at the Way Out Club March 16th Lollilove and Terror Firmer

14 March 2012 8:17 AM, PDT | WeAreMovieGeeks.com | See recent WeAreMovieGeeks.com news »

Two very different movies from the crazies at Troma Studios will screen Friday night March 16th at The Way Out Club as part of our third monthly Troma Night At The Way Out Club. We’ve decided to move it back to Friday night and we’ve got a great Free double feature.

“Saving the world, one sucker at a time”

First up this month is Lollilove, a riotous 2004 mock documentary about charity and the homeless directed by and starring St. Louis’ own Jenna Fischer (from The Office) and produced by and costarring her then-husband and fellow St. Louisan James Gunn. Fisher and Gunn play well-meaning Hollywood rich kids who decide to prop up the homeless by handing hobos and drunken derelicts lollypops. Not just any suckers, but ones with designer inspirational wrappers. LolliLove is a bit of an odd release for Troma, because it’s not a blood, boob, »
