The end of daylight-saving time sent ratings for many syndicated shows racing up the chart during the week ending Nov. 3, according to Nielsen Media Research data. The frame also included the first two weekdays of the November sweep. Primetime access programming played especially well, with the top six off-network sitcoms hitting season highs. Friends (7.3) was up 7%, Seinfeld (7.2) gained 11% and Everybody Loves Raymond (6.7) and Will & Grace (4.4) were both up 10% for the week. That '70s Show (3.7) jumped 16%, and Home Improvement (3.5) gained 6%. Three of the four access magazine strips also were on the rise for the week. Entertainment Tonight (6.1) hit its highest number in 30 weeks with a week-to-week gain of 9%. Inside Edition (3.2) was unchanged, Extra (2.9) was up 12% to a season high, and Access Hollywood (2.7) gained 13% week-to-week. »

Angelina Ends Feud With Dad

Troubled actress Angelina Jolie has patched up her feud with dad Jon Voight after his tearful TV plea. Veteran screen star Jon broke down on a US chat show last week, begging his daughter to get in touch and saying he was devastated they were not talking to each other. Tomb Raider babe Angelina has had a rocky relationship with her dad for years after his womanizing ended his marriage to her mum, actress Marcheline Bertrand. But Angelina - who is divorcing actor Billy Bob Thornton - finally picked up the phone last week and called her dad. They made plans to meet soon. According to Britain's The Sun newspaper, a source close to the Hollywood beauty says, "After seeing how distraught he was, Angelina decided to get back in touch. She could see how upsetting the family feud was for Jon and decided to let bygones be bygones. She picked up the phone and rang him in LA. They chatted and arranged to meet when she got back to the States." Jon made his tearful appeal on American TV's Access Hollywood show. He also said he worried for his daughter's health as she coped with her divorce. »

McConaughey Saves Life

Actor Matthew McConaughey stepped in to become a real-life hero to save a man in the throes of a seizure. The New York Daily News reports that the fast-acting film hunk administered mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to a sound man from Access Hollywood who had suffered a seizure during McConaughey's Reign of Fire interview at the Regency Hotel in New York. The heroic act sustained the man until medics arrived. He's reportedly in stable condition at Lenox Hill Hospital. »

J. Lo And Cris: Estranged For Weeks?

Friends have revealed that Jennifer Lopez's split from Cris Judd, her husband of just eight months, is mutual and amicable--and they say the couple may have been estranged for weeks. Insiders have even told reporters at Access Hollywood that the couple had split before the latest shots of them together on the set of J. Lo's upcomimg movie The Chambermaid were taken. In those pictures, snapped two weeks ago, the two looked like a couple very much in love. The pair also appear together in Lopez's new video, "I'm Gonna Be All Right," which was shot just last month. Lopez made no mention of the split in recent interviews to promote her new film Enough, and referred to Judd as "the peace in my storm of a life." Questions about the couple's marriage were asked after Judd allegedly stormed out of the launch party of his wife's Pasadena, California, restaurant Madres in April after an argument. Reports that J. Lo is back in the arms of her ex-boyfriend Sean "P. Diddy" Combs have been strongly denied and the pals insist no third party in involved in the split. »
