No voice over and all music gets a bit boring after awhile.
The frecce Tricolori Fly over the Eiffel Tower in a dramatic opening with a voice over telling of the "many things to do here in the City of Light, but for the most part...look up" Afterwards, for about ten minutes we go into the main exhibition buildings at Charles de Gaulle Intl. Airport and we must put up with what becomes annoying background music. After that ends, we see the arrival of then President Francois Mitterand, with all his security entourage. The announcer then gives us a sort of "goodbye" with the line" Now enjoy and experience Paris Airshow 87." New background music fades in and for the rest of the show, with only brief 5-minute clips on other goings on at the event, we must put up with that music for the duration. Only a small, cheesy graphic at the bottom of the screen tells us what is flying next. One of the neatest things to see is when either an Airbus A300 or near the like does a complete loop in the sky and for an aircraft of it's size, it was pretty darn amazing, even on videotape. Other than that, it almost put me to sleep, even with changes in the background music (whoopee!) If you like airshows and for once don't want some announcer saying "oh there it goes, it's now doing this and that," then you found your show. Yet that is the heel, finding it. I don't know where on earth this can be located. I was able to rent it at my local Blockbuster Video store, but they trashed it after only I had seemingly rented it. Not even Critics Choice Video has it anymore (they used to). If you can find it, more power to you, but yet give it a look and you might even find your self humming in tune with the annoying ditties
