Star vehicle for Kazan the Wonder Dog
17 March 2017 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

FEROCIOUS PAL is a fun, short vehicle for canine star Kazan the Wonder Dog. He teams up with a runaway pair of kids and they end up at a farm run by a kindly old-timer who is being plagued by a gang of sheep rustlers. Poor old Kazan is accused of the crime and forced to go on the run to clear his name.

Well, the plot is something like that anyway; I write with tongue in cheek. But Kazan is definitely the star of this picture and he's an energetic and well-trained delight whenever he's on screen. The human characters have little to do but state homilies and interact with the canine star, but the whole film has a safe, sanitised feel that makes it enjoyable. It's no Lassie, but it's an amiable time-passer regardless.
