Storyline

A glimpse of the everyday life of the notorious Roman emperor. Caligula rides out on his favorite stallion Incitatus and is given a wash, made up and fed by his female slaves - all the while enjoying their sexual favors. In a senate meeting, Caligula insults the senators and threatens to appoint his favorite stallion. A visit from the German princess Brunhilde provides a welcome diversion. The boredom is also relieved by a visit from Demetrius and Jason, two friends from Greece. They take part in a ballgame which quickly leads to an orgy, and Caligula invites them to an Egyptian brothel. But their stay is brief, and Caligula feels lonely and desolate once again. Luckily, Brunhilde and his favorite slaves are more than ready to console the emperor. Written by alphaboy

Quotes

Caligola: Demetrius! Jason! You've come back at last! I'm so glad to see you!
[laughs]
Caligola: My dear friends. I've been so bored with these ignorant peasants who are my subjects since you've been away. Oh my god, you can't believe it. So how's Greece? Dish me the dirt on Athens. Tell me what it's like!
Demetrius: Oh, we discuss philosophy and art, and of course like everybody else, we have a little fun.
Caligola: Ah Greece... where all the Romans go. When they die.

Primitive beyond redemption.
31 January 2014 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

For a start I have to make benchmark which for me is Tinto Brass and then its clear this flick will not qualify for consideration. It basically pretend to be a porno but as my benchmark for porno are Danish movies "In the sign of..." D'Amato will get fail on this test. In short its junk beyond redemption. Sure, chicks are naked often but word plot was lost somewhere. Imagination as moving force in movie's art not here that's the biggest problem. But his other flick "Bocca Golosa" in same porno style I remember as positive step with strange charm. I hope somebody gives us broad review of all his attempts so I don't have to waste my money. My impression is his best time was in between 1970 and 1980.
