You'll Regret Watching It Sooner or Later
3 August 2011 | by (Sydeny, Australia) – See all my reviews

I remember when I was younger I used to watch this film A lot, and I mean a lot. I thought it was a good movie back in the day, 'till I got sick of it and stopped watching. The more I grew older tho, the more I found out about animation such as "straight to video releases", in which this case this movie is. I watched again recently and wanted to turn it off in the first Ten minutes of it, why?. Because it was horrible.

I noticed with this movie it has a seven year gap between last one, which that one and the first one were cinematic releases, and as most of us should know, straight to video movies ain't worth your money.

The characters were familiar with the in the first two are made unlikeable and annoying, dumbing down completely, and yes even Tiger you would wanna put down. The new characters are not avoided in this matter, they are unlikable too, and to be honest, very stereotypical too, for there's Buniess Mice, Native American Mice and even a professor who's persona and structure are relied on the stereotype they are based.

The plot is quite unoriginal to my opinion, Disney could have done the same thing and they could have been praised for it. The story is nonsense in itself, Feviel with Tony find a native supply room under the underground monorail, which leads them with Tiger, and the two new character which the one of them betrays them (trust me, he's not hard to spot). They stumble upon the Native American Mices home, underground and they return the favor to bring the daughter of the chief up to land. Which leads to Fivels fathers bosses to causes racist rallies against the girl and natives all together, so they have to return her and seal them off form the outside world.

American Tail wouldn't really fit this kind of story at all, from the last two ones, they had original stories, this one takes elements from Hollywood and try to make it its own.

To also tell that this movie isn't worth it, the animation. Any straight to video releases has is animation slow moving, bland looking and boring coloring to stare at. Whilst the two previous movies animation was animation that could make anyone amazed and even proud. But the animation in this (and even the 4th one after this) is not worth calling a good movie.

In conclusion, when you reach the age of reason and watch this movie to remind yourself of your childhood memories, this isn't the best choice, you will regret even knowing about the movie. It's not worth your children seeing or your money. I recommend one stirs clear from it.
