My introduction to the golden age of Russian animation
Rectangular_businessman18 February 2023
Back then in the late 90s, before Youtube and the internet age allowed us the chance of seeing many foreign films in their languaje, this series was my introduction of the many wonders from the golden age of Russian animation made by Soyuzmultfilm.

It's true that in a couple of episodes the dubs were a somewhat uneven, and also, some pieces of the original soundtrack were altered. However, compared with the usual liberties translators took with anime series, the scripts remained mostly faithful to the originals.

And it allowed me the chance to seeing by the first time many wonderful classics such as "The Snow Queen", "The Twelve Months", "The Scarlet Flower", and many others.

That is enough for me to have a high appreciation for this series. It was a marvellous treasure, especially in a time were accessibility to these gems were much difficult than nowadays.
