I remember going in to watch 1994’s Airheads at the cinema, at the time tempted to do so more by the name of Michael Lehmann on the end credits than Adam Sandler and Brendan Fraser above the title. Steve Buscemi’s presence helped too, of course. But Lehmann had, after all, come to the project off the back of the unfairly maligned Hudson Hawk, and also, this is the man who gave the world Heathers. Can’t grumble with that.

Whoopi Goldberg and Giancarlo Esposito join comedy Shriver

Whoopi Goldberg and Giancarlo Esposito have joined Toni Collette and Thomas Haden Church in Shriver, a new comedy from writer-director Michael Maren, which is based on Chris Beldon’s book of the same name. The film will mark a reunion for Goldberg, Esposito and Church, who previously all appeared in 2001’s Monkeybone.

Deadline reports that the film will tell the “story of a loner mistaken for a renowned but reclusive author. He suddenly finds himself the center of attention at a writer’s conference celebrating the 20th anniversary of the book written by the real author. Shriver takes on the mistaken identity while sparking a romance with the English professor who runs the conference and is about to pull it all off when the real Shriver appears.”

Dancing With the Stars better secure the rights to Haddaway's "What Is Love" for new contestant Chris Kattan. E! News has learned the Saturday Night Live veteran is in serious talks to compete in season 24 of the reality dance competition and you can be sure there will be some Night at the Roxbury, which used "What Is Love," homages. Perhaps Mr. Peepers will make an appearance? Kattan appeared on SNL from 1996 to 2003 and starred in the A Night at the Roxbury flick, a spinoff from the sketch series, opposite Will Ferrell.
