Omnibus is far from being a great film, but I must respect the filmmakers for making a very solid debut at the young age of 15. Choosing to make your first film around a cast of twenty 5-16 year olds is quite a task. While the story may lack much "story", the script and direction are strong enough to create some young characters each with their own conflicts and challenges. The camera work is inspired and crisp, the editing is fast and fluid, and the overall tone is quite enjoyable. Seeing much of Signore's later work, it's impossible to ignore the promise he shows, even in such an early high-school effort. I for one, look forward to seeing more from this talented young director, and "Omnibus" gets my greatest respect.
