I remember this series fondly, as a young boy of five I would be glued to it every week. It seemed to me that there were more episodes but that was 60 years ago. In the days when Gay meant something different to what it does today our Duval was a fun loving Royal supporter and not a homosexual, for those who don't remember those days.

I would love to see this series again and don't understand why it is lost so please all you old TV executives and their descendants, check your attics and make and old man happy. I can still sing the theme tune, how's that for memory!

Like kristhebass I too recall this series. Coincidentally it was shown on tv at a time when we were studying the English Civil War at school, so tales of Roundheads and Cavaliers definitely appealed. Although I don't think the series contributed much to my historical knowledge! To be honest ,I don't recall any of the stories, but then we were spoilt for choice so far as adventure series were concerned at the time, with the likes of The Buccaneers, Scarlet Pimpernel, Robin Hood and Sir Lancelot, to name just a few. Oh! Not forgetting Ivanhoe and William Tell. I do remember that Duval inevitably engaged in a climactic sword fight at the end of each episode. Usually with a Roundhead, or two. That alone made it worth watching. Although it made me a Royalist supporter at the time, once in my teens and studying the Civil War in greater depth, I became a committed Parliamentarian. "Oh the Gay Cavalier with a sword for the King!". Find it somebody!
