Spec script 'Tom' finds home at NL

3 June 2005 | The Hollywood Reporter | See recent The Hollywood Reporter news »

New Line has acquired the spec script Stay at Home Tom, by Adam Gibgot. Benderspink is producing. The story centers on a man with a successful, career-minded wife who finds himself forced to stay at home to take care of their kids. "It's very autobiographical," Gibgot said. "My wife is a producer, and I found myself as a writer sitting at home and dealing with things like our kids' sleep issues and the competitive nature of daycare." Gibgot's wife, Jennifer, has producing credits that include She's All That, The Wedding Planner and The Pacifier. New Line exec Richard Brener and Cale Boyter oversee. Gibgot will serve as exec producer. Gibgot, repped by Endeavor and attorney Stewart Brookman, just signed a blind two-script development deal with Sony Television. Gibgot has sold the spec Untraceable to Castle Rock and has Flawless set up at the Walt Disney Co. »
