Trivia

The original cast of Charlie's Angels (1976) - Jaclyn Smith, Kate Jackson and Farrah Fawcett - were invited to make cameo appearances, but declined. Reportedly, Fawcett said she'd only do it if she were allowed to be the voice of Charlie, and Jackson insisted on playing the role of Vivian Wood that eventually went to Kelly Lynch. Ultimately, John Forsythe and Smith did appear in its sequel, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003). Smith's role was uncredited, however. See more »

Goofs

There is a common misconception that USA law requires actors portraying military personnel to wear the uniform improperly ("out of uniform") so as to not be "impersonating" military personnel. This is simply not so. 10 U.S.C. 772(f) does authorize the wear of an armed forces uniform by an actor in a theatrical or motion picture production "if that portrayal does not tend to discredit that armed force." SCHACHT v. UNITED STATES was a Supreme Court case in 1970 which found the preceding quote unconstitutional. As such, actors may wear the uniform in a theatrical or motion picture production without fear that it must reflect well on the military. Short version: Any movies which depict improperly worn uniforms can't use this excuse. They simply goofed up. See more »

The angels have fallen (big time)
12 December 2006 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

I was optimistic about this adaptation of the classic 70s and 80s show, but on first viewing, it did nothing but disappoint. This movie is simply too over the top, and the 'funny' moments are quite laboured.

Great karate moves and special effects are spoilt by the weak storyline and a ridiculous performance from Bill Murray. Nice to hear John Forsythe reprise the role of Charlie though.

A shame that one of the men responsible for the original TV series had a hand in producing a poor adaptation. Why did Leonard Goldberg bother? Original star Kate Jackson also commented on how the film failed to capture the spirit of the TV series: I see her point immensely.

This movie is a poor excuse for something that is supposed to be based on a legendary TV series. It is simply ridiculous and over the top nonsense that is absolutely nothing to get excited about.
