'Continuum': Everything You Need To Know About The Sci-Fi Cop Show

25 May 2012 11:19 AM, PDT | Aol TV. | See recent Aol TV. news »

I'm standing in a drab, monochromatic police department TV set in Vancouver that could quite feasibly serve as the base for any number of procedural police dramas on the air right now. Except this particular police show has something none of the others do: a foxy cop from the future. Yes, the cop and sci-fi genres have been melded together for the hot new summer show "Continuum," set to debut on Showcase this week.

The show follows Keira Cameron (Rachel Nichols, "Criminal Minds"), an officer with the Vancouver City Protective Services (Cps). We first meet Keira in 2077, when she's a regular "protector," wife and mother going about her business. When she's placed on guard duty during a mass execution of seven terrorists, she's jolted 65 years into the past when the prisoners deploy a high-tech, time-travel escape. She's disoriented -- to say the least -- when she finds herself in the »

Game Of Thrones Recap: Smmmmmmokin!

23 April 2012 11:46 AM, PDT | BestWeekEver | See recent BestWeekEver news »

It’s Game Of Thrones Season 2, Episode 4 entitled “Garden Of Bones,” which may end up referring to actual human remains, boners, or some combination therein (graphic scene of skeletons f***ing each other in a garden that’s also f***ing another garden). This week’s episode set a new television record for “Most Scenes You’re Ready For Them To Cut Away From,” breaking the previous mark of 7, set in 1966 by an uncharacteristically violent episode of F-Troop. We open Cringefest 2K12 (that K is getting rat-tortured by the 12) with Robb Stark scoring a dominant battle victory over a Lannister force using the classic “I think I hear something / I’m not falling for that” battle tactic straight out of the “Jason Voorhees” chapter of The Art Of War. The following morning, we cut to a guard with his intestines torn out by a direwolf (also the image on every Game Of Thrones subway poster, »

What Would Be the Best Strategy to Win the Hunger Games?

19 March 2012 12:21 PM, PDT | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

This question originally appeared on Quora. By Cristina Hartmann Lawyer by day, writer by night Preface: if I truly ended up in a Hunger Games event, I'd probably pee my pants and cry, getting myself killed within the first 30 seconds. I don't think I have it in me to survive long. This answer assumes that I'm not a wuss. Another note: I base this strategy on someone like me. I wouldn't be a Career, nor would I be very powerful. Strategy depends so much on the individual's strengths and weaknesses. As an all-around mediocre physical being, this is the strategy I'd take. 1) I'd pretend to be mediocre during training to make myself forgettable. Not too good or too bad. I'd fade into the background. If you excel, such as Katniss, you make yourself a target. If you prove completely incompetent, you also make yourself a target. I'd focus on making people forget about me. »

Episode Recap: Person of Interest - 1.14: "Wolf And Cub"

10 February 2012 12:54 PM, PST | PopStar | See recent PopStar news »

As much as I hate to see it, I think maybe Reese (James Caviezel) is pulling away from his camaraderie with Finch (Michael Emerson) and seeking his human connection elsewhere. Not that it's his fault, Finch's uber-paranoid behavior has hit new levels of sketchy lately and Reese is purposely being kept out of the loop. Will this tension between them as Reese gets closer and closer to Finch's skeleton-filled closet come to a head? Of course. And it will be amazing to see. But this week, Reese has his hands full with a much shorter and less paranoid side-kick. The bat cave has been compromised and when we see our dynamic duo, they are reentering their violated sanctum in the library. Finch isn't taking any chances this time and has a well-armed Reese check the place over before he goes to work rebuilding his technical babies. Even Reese is alarmed at Finch's new reticence, »

First “Upside Down” Trailer Is A Mind Bender

2 January 2012 3:32 PM, PST | FamousMonsters of Filmland | See recent Famous Monsters of Filmland news »

Upside Down is a dizzying fantasy following one man’s journey into an alternate universe to find the long lost love of his youth, starring Kirsten (Virgin Suicides) Dunst and Jim (Across The Universe) Sturgess as the lovelorn adventurer. The Montreal, Quebex, Canada-lensed film is slated for release in the Netherlands in May of this year, but has yet to announce Us distribution.

The trailer (with French subtitles) illustrates the gorgeous cinematography of Pierre (The Art Of War) Gill. It doesn’t hurt that director Juan Diego Solanas also has a background behind the camera, and the results are stunning, as is the music by Benoit (Triplets Of Belleville) Charest.

Enjoy the trailer and a few stills taken from the footage available, and stay tuned for that Us release date…
