Michael Eisner’s Tornante Taps Jim & Brian Kehoe To Script Olympic Village Comedy

Michael Eisner’s Tornante Taps Jim & Brian Kehoe To Script Olympic Village Comedy
Exclusive: Michael Eisner’s Tornante Company is following its Netflix show BoJack Horseman by creating some feature film action. Tornante has set the comedy writing duo of Jim & Brian Kehoe to pen an untitled comedy in a mid-six-figure deal. I’m told the idea centers on the Olympic Village. The siblings have several projects around town, including their 2012 Black List entry Cherries, which has Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg producing for Good Universe alongside Dmg, with John Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg directing.

The Kehoes are currently rewriting Thomas Lennon & Ben Garant’s Disney script The Wheelman, and they sold their action comedy pitch Top Of The Food Chain for mid-six figures to Lionsgate, with Tyler Perry’s 34th Street Films and Dmg producing. Cherries sold as a spec shortly after Endgame purchased the Kehoes’ previous spec script, You Complete Us, for Adam Shankman and Offspring. The scribes are repped by

Michael Eisner’s Tornante Developing Olympic Village Comedy (Exclusive)

Michael Eisner’s Tornante Developing Olympic Village Comedy (Exclusive)
Michael Eisner’s Tornante Co. is making a splash in the feature film business, developing an Olympic Village comedy.

Tornante has hired the comedy writing team Jim and Brian Kehoe to pen an untitled internal comedy idea. The logline is being kept under wraps, but centers around the Olympic Village.

Eisner, who was the CEO of Disney for 17 years, founded Tornante in 2005 and acquired Topps baseball card publishers, Internet chore site TaskRabbit and made-for-Internet production shingle Vuguru.

Eisner signed a worldwide distribution deal in late 2012 with Universal, under which Uni agreed to put up the P&A for a certain amount of qualifying pictures, returning Eisner to the moviemaking business.

Netflix acquired Tornante’s animated comedy “Bojack Horseman,” with a voice cast including Will Arnett and Aaron Paul, late last year in the streamer’s first adult-oriented animated original.

The Kehoe Brothers sold their Black List script “Cherries” to Good Universe in 2012 with Seth Rogen,

Disney Revving Up Action-Comedy ‘The Wheelman’ (Exclusive)

Disney is revving up the family action-comedy “The Wheelman,” bringing on the sibling writing team of Jim and Brian Kehoe to script.

Panay Film’s Andrew Panay, Adam Blum and Jared Iacino are producing. Panay’s credits include “Wedding Crashers” and “Hot Tub Time Machine 2.”

Night at the Museum” writers Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant wrote the original script, in which a Las Vegas limo driver is forced to drive around a mob boss’ bratty son and his friends. The driver gets in a little too deep when the mafioso goes missing.

Kristin Burr and Louie Provost are overseeing “The Wheelman” for the studio.

The Kehoe brothers recently sold action-comedy pitch “Top of the Food Chain” to Lionsgate and Tyler Perry’s 34th Street Films. China-based Dmg Entertainment (“Iron Man 3″) has come aboard as a producer to support an international release.

The brothers’ Black List script “Cherries” is

Lionsgate and Tyler Perry's 34th Street Films have bought an action-comedy pitch from screenwriters Jim and Brian Kehoe for mid-six figures, sources close to the deal said. TV review: The Apprentice

It's boys v girls, but they're all ghastly and awful – yes, The Apprentice is back

Here we go again then: The Apprentice (BBC1), series eight, can you believe it? Eight years since Tim and Saira and that lot, who now seem like magnanimous saints compared with what we're seeing now.

"When it comes to business, I'm like a shark, I'm right at the top of the food chain," says one of this year's crop of wazzocks. "I'm somebody who'll take whatever I want, whenever I want it. I truly am the reflection of perfection …" Yeah, all right, shut up now you bloody idiot. Ha, he's called Ricky Martin. Livin' the vida loca …

And, we're told, putting his money on the line is … The Boss. Springsteen? They have got Springsteen, that's exactly the kind of injection of new life The Apprentice needed, now I'm listening … Oh, it's just Sugar again, the boss,

Korea Invades New York! Free Movies For All!

The mighty Grady Hendrix wrote the press release for this, which means it is far more entertaining than anything I am likely to come up.  So take it away Grady!

The American people are under attack. Held hostage by a totalitarian regime based in Hollywood that insists on torturing them with terrible movies based on lame toys and old TV shows in clear violation of their human rights, America¹s citizens cry out to the international community for assistance.

And Korea responds.

The Korean Cultural Service, the most battle-tested and technologically advanced arm of the Korean government, is staging an invasion of Manhattan to liberate Americans from their current system of entertainment.

Coordinated by the director of the Kcs, Soo Keun Song, every other Tuesday night, from January 12, 2010 until December 14, 2010, the Korean Cultural Service will be screening new Korean movies at the Tribeca Cinemas (54 Varick Street) for free.

That¹s right,
